Qishlaq in Gobustan district, Azerbaijan.

The Terekeme are a nomadic or semi-nomadic Turkic ethnic group that can be found in several countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia, including Azerbaijan. The term "Terekeme" is derived from the Turkish words "tere" (meaning "steppe") and "keme" (meaning "tent").

The Terekeme people have a long history of migration and have traditionally lived a nomadic lifestyle, herding livestock such as sheep, goats, and horses. They are known for their skilled horsemanship and have been involved in various equestrian traditions and competitions.

In Azerbaijan, the Terekeme people have their own distinct settlements known as "qishlaq" or "kishlak." These settlements consist of traditional tents or yurts, which are portable dwellings made of felt and wooden frames. The Terekeme qishlaqs are typically located in rural areas, often near pastures where their livestock can graze.

Happy Nowruz Holiday!!!

Nowruz is a widely celebrated holiday in Azerbaijan, which marks the arrival of spring. It is a public holiday in Azerbaijan and is usually observed on March 20 or 21, depending on the exact moment of the spring equinox.

During Nowruz, Azerbaijani people participate in a variety of customs and traditions, including cleaning their homes, setting up a "haft sin" table with symbolic items, and visiting friends and family. Other traditions include jumping over bonfires, lighting candles, and playing traditional games.

In Azerbaijan, Nowruz is also celebrated as a symbol of national unity and solidarity. It is a time when people of all backgrounds and beliefs come together to celebrate the arrival of spring and the start of a new year.
