Piti is one of the traditional and popular dishes of Azerbaijan, especially widespread in Sheki region.

This dish is mainly made from mutton and cooked in a clay pot.

Piti differs both in the way it is cooked and in its presentation.

Main features:
Ingredients: Mutton, peas, tail oil, spring onions, saffron, potatoes, and spices.

Cooking method: It is cooked for a long time in a ceramic piti pot in a slow cooker.

Presentation: It is eaten in two stages - first the soup, and then the meat and vegetables.

"Kalagayi" is a national women's headdress made of pure silk.

Bununla yanaşı, “buta” kəlağayının bəzədilməsində hər zaman əsas element olmuşdur və olmaqdadır.

Mütəxəssislər butanın mənasını müxtəlif cür açıqlayır, çox vaxt butanı əbədi həyat simvolu hesab edirlər.

Bəlkə də bu səbəbdən bir çox Azərbaycan xalçalarında butaya rast gəlinir.

2014-cü ilin noyabr ayında Azərbaycan kəlağayısı UNESCO-nun Bəşəriyyətin qeyri maddi mədəni irsi üzrə Reprezentativ Siyahısına “Qadın ipək baş örtüyü kəlağayını ənənəvi hazırlanma və daşınma mədəniyyəti və onun simvolikası” adı ilə daxil edilmişdir.

One of the first symbols that comes to mind when you think of Nowruz holiday is "Shekerbura".

"Shekerbura" is one of our oldest and national sweets.

During the holiday, our ladies love to prepare this sweet in every home and put it on the Nowruz table.

From time immemorial, the neatness and skill of our ladies was known for the embroidery of Shakerbura.
