Beautiful day on Mt. Treskavica with a Belgian group!

Treskavica is situated in Trnovo municipality just south of city of Sarajevo. Mala Ćaba (Đokin Toranj) peak is at 2088 m, which makes Treskavica the tallest of all the mountains circling Sarajevo, and only some 300 m shorter than the tallest mountain in the country.

First big ride from 2023 as biking has been replaced by skiing most of the weekends. 69 km and more than 1200 elevation gain. The ride from Konjic to Mostar via Ruijste goes through the Prenj-mountain and is an amazing alternative with bike.

I want to dedicate last ride to the Tisovica-valley on Mt. Prenj to a beautiful story related to it.

Njegos Kalajdzija from Brcko has contacted photographer Dženad Džino Photography because he was amazed by mt. Prenj in the way Dzenad presents it to the public through his pictures.

Njegos makes wooden cabins and he wanted to donate one to place somewhere on Prenj. He asked therefore if Dzenad knew a good purpose for it and mountain rescue team Gorska Služba Spašavanja PRENJ has been chosen to donate to.

Dzenad invited Njegos to join him on a hike to Prenj together with Almir Karkelja from GSS_prenj. With the agreement from the Konjic municipality, they found the perfect location for the cabin in the Tisovica valley.

Short time later, the cabin has been constructed in cooperation with the people from gss Prenj and was given the name "Divova Kuca", derived from a poem about Prenj from the writer Vladimir Nazor.

The story about Njegos and his cabin has got a very positive response from people all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and is a welcome event in these insecure times.

Trnovačko Lake is known for its heart-like shape. It is located at an altitude of 1517 metres, is 700 metres long and 400 metres wide set amidst a "huge amphitheater of rocky peaks". The lake is drained from the Maglić, the Volujak and the Bioč mountain ranges. The lake water has a deep green-blue colour.

My first tour on Mt. Treskavica and the mountain has impressed me! The mountain has 3 lake's, waterfalls and rivers. The remaining snow made our tour even more impressive. Good company, good weather and an amazing mountain. Time more than well spent!

Jablanica Lake and Neretvica river (Konjic - Parsovici - Konjic)

The Neretvica-river has been protected by the locals against the building of 15 mini hydropower plants.

They founded the "Pusti me da tecem - Let me flow" association. Even Leonardo Di Caprio has congratulated them for protecting the river succesfully.

Via ferrata Sokolov put Romanija.

The ferrata is 350 m long with a vertical difference of 160 m. It contains 4 vertical sections of up to 30m and the highlight – a cable bridge suspending between 2 walls. It’s equally suitable for beginners as well as more experienced hikers and mountaineers.

One of my favourite rides is from Bogodol close to Goranci on mt. Cabulja to Blidinje with a great view on the Dreznica canyon. Gravel all the way, and an amazing landscape. Connecting Mostar and Blidinje via Cabulja is an ideal alternative for bikers to avoid the main roads.
