The river, which runs 140 miles (225km) from the Dinaric Alps to the Adriatic Sea, supports bears, wolves lynx and myriad rare species. This award is the latest in a series of awards that Herzegovinian winemakers and Herzegovina, as a winemaking region, have won in the recent period, including the membership of the Herzegovina Wine Route in the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe Iter Vitis, the award “Best Iter Vitis Wine City” for the City of Mostar, “Best Sustainable Destination for Wine Tourism” for the City of Trebinje, “Best Practice in Enhancing Cultural-Historical Heritage and Wine” for the Tvrdoš Monastery, and 39 medals for Herzegovinian wines at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2023, the world’s most prestigious wine evaluation 👏👏👏🧡
