As of Thursday, September 22, 2022, there are no testing requirements to enter Barbados. 😀 Mask wearing generally is optional.

The Biden administration has lifted pre-departure COVID-19 testing requirements for international travelers to the United States as of Sunday, June 12. Travelers to the U.S. no longer need a negative COVID-19 test before their flight.

Non-U.S. citizens are still required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before entering the country.

U.S. citizens are not required to show proof of vaccination but are recommended to stay home and self-quarantine for five full days after travel.

We are open and ready to welcome you to beautiful Barbados, and hope you will feel confident to travel without any required testing if you are fully vaccinated!

Did you know - the Government of Barbados has announced a major change to its travel protocols. Fully-vaccinated travelers to Barbados no longer have to take a COVID-19 test to enter the country! Also masks are now only mandatory indoors and on public transportation. Outdoors, masks are optional.

Unvaccinated travelers still require a NEGATIVE pre-flight test within three (3) days prior to arrival on the island. The test may be Standard PCR, Rapid PCR or Rapid Antigen Test. All unvaccinated travelers will be required to take a rapid antigen test on arrival at the airport. Once the result is negative, they would be allowed to continue on to their accommodation. The Travel Protocols also state that there will no longer be a quarantine requirement for the unvaccinated travelers to Barbados.

Turtle Crossing! Walking down the beach the other day we saw these new sea turtle hatchlings finding their way to the sea. The nest was at the back of the beach under some grasses.

An unexpected visitor came by....Green Monkeys found only in Barbados originally came from West Africa approximately 350 years ago, but Barbados monkeys today have evolved to have different characteristics than those in West Africa. Their thick fur that is brownish-grey with specks of yellow and olive green. In some lights, the fur has an overall green appearance, which is why they are called Green Monkeys. They roam free on the island and occasionally visit near Banyan Beach House.

We arrived last week fully vaccinated and took a rapid Covid test at the airport. We had to take a cab to Banyan Beach House, which was already stocked with groceries for us, and stay here until we got our negative test results but we got our results in just a few hours and have been enjoying the beautiful island ever since-basically no quarantine if you are vaccinated! The system is working, cases are very low, and we feel very safe.

New protocols for fully vaccinated visitors to Barbados begin May 8. Shorter quarantine period means quicker access to all the island has to offer.

As of today the COVID restrictions in Barbados are easing!
Curfew is now only from 9pm-6am daily, and most businesses have been allowed to reopen, including retail stores, fast food restaurants for drive-thru and pick-up only; restaurants for in-house dining (with distancing protocols being observed); and bars with no congregating allowed.
Beaches are open 6am-9am and 3pm-6pm. Individual sports like road tennis, lawn tennis, diving, golf, walking or hiking, are allowed, however squash and table tennis will not be allowed due to the small size of the court, and anything involving contact or team sports, such as cricket, football and volleyball will remain on pause for another few weeks.

Wear your masks, wash your hands, maintain social distance and Stay Healthy Barbados!
