The Right Excellent Errol Barrow: The Father of Independence

The Right Excellent Errol Walton Barrow, one of Barbados’ National Heroes, is fondly remembered as the Father of Independence. A visionary leader and the first Prime Minister of Barbados, he played a pivotal role in guiding the island to independence from Britain on November 30, 1966.

He was a champion of social and economic reform, advocating for free education and health care, which continue to benefit Barbadians today.

Lovely stay, good location to visit places up and down the west coast.
+ The apartment was very spacious, actually a house rather than an apartment with a lounge/diner and kitchen downstairs and two bedrooms with bathroom upstairs. It was well equipped and included a washing machine which was great for cleaning our swimwear etc when needed.

Bedrooms were spacious and the air conditioning was excellent. Space outside with a washing line to dry clothing and towels. Staff were very friendly and accommodating before and during our stay. I would recommend a stay here!

Feedback from our guests !

Our stay at Best E Villas Christ Church location met our family's needs perfectly, and was a great value for the price. We were late in securing accommodations, and most of the VRBOs and other accommodations were unavailable for our 9-night stay over the Christmas & New Year holiday. I happened upon Best E Villas on various booking sites, but booked directly on their website.

Mr. Best was communicative and helpful via WhatsApp, and despite the busy holiday season, made good on his advertised promise of a bottle of rum! He was also helpful in recommending a braider for my children's hair.

The accommodations were simple and clean, tucked away in a neighborhood that was off the beaten path, while relatively close to several amenities and points of interest in the South Coast area. You will need a car to stay here - but, it's close to the airport, a 6 min drive to Oistins, a very short drive to the beach, and about 20 min drive to some of the fancier shopping and dining options on the West Coast.

While we didn't use it, the unit also has access to a small shared pool. We also had access to the washing machine and dryer, a big plus for me, as I like to try to return home with a suitcase full of clean clothes.

There are a few things in the unit that could use a refresh, but everything was certainly adequate for our needs - and especially at this very reasonable price point!

Just a few suggestions to improve our experience would be to: add a few more cooking supplies in the kitchen (a larger frying pan, and a baking sheet); replace the couch or couch cushions (it is possibly one of the least comfortable couches I've sat on!); replace the shower head in the bathroom; and. provide a few extra towels (this was probably a function of our timing... with the holidays we did not see the housekeeper as much as I suspect we would have during a "normal"/non-holiday week!).

Again, these things are very minor, and didn't significantly impact our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Best E Villas again, should we find ourselves in Barbados!
