Oh my goodness. This is one the town’s oldest buildings. Those of you who took the tour would have learned the history of it.
Really hope we don’t loose it.

GETTING LOST IN HUNTE'S GARDENS

In last week's episode I got to experience 'the most enchanting place on earth', Hunte's Gardens.

I chat with Antony Hunte who is responsible for developing this well-loved attraction in Barbados. Not only hear some of Antony's fabulous stories but also the tropical birds chirping away in the background.

June is Caribbean American Heritage Month!

Join the U.S. Embassy Bridgetown at 12 noon tomorrow for “A Conversation with Barbados Museum Deputy Director Kevin Farmer” to learn about the connections between Barbados and the United States.

The documentary “Beyond Barbados: The Carolina Connection” shares the deep, historic ties that bind Barbados to South Carolina.

The African presence in what became South Carolina dates back to the 1500s and their arrival with early Spanish explorers. In 1670, when English settlers migrating from the island of Barbados established a settlement at Charles Towne, people of African descent began arriving via the island shortly thereafter. By the year's end, almost 30 people of African descent could be found living among about 170 Europeans and thousands of Native Americans. These early African arrivals form part of a historic connection between the island of Barbados and the Gullah Geechee people of today.

COMING SOON: EPISODE EIGHTEEN🎙️

This week, I’m crossing off one of my big bucket list activities. After sitting on my balcony watching beautiful yachts and sailing boats cruise by every afternoon, I though it was time to book a sunset cruise for myself.

I still pinch myself every time I do an activity like this. One of the perks of living in paradise, I suppose!

Stay tuned for this week's podcast episode to hear all about my experience and subscribe now so you don't miss a thing!
