This webinar is being pursued as a public awareness initiative to expose the Barbadian public to a range of topical issues related to the mandate of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy (MMABE) and that are important for Barbados future development.
Its focus is on the United Nations “Decade of Ocean Science’ for Sustainable Development” and is intended to highlight the cross-cutting nature of the coastal and marine challenges that face Barbados and the Caribbean region, and the implications that they have for the broad suite of sustainability pursuits that are currently in vogue - Blue economy; green economy; circular economy; climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience; Sustainable Development Goals - etc.
