Our first official repeat guest, for the year 2024.
Anne, Mary , Patrick & Emma 😊....it was indeed a pleasure!
Astoundingly enough, or probably, maybe to my surprise, as a budding entrepreneur in the service and hospitality industry , having a booking one full year in advance was something out of the ordinary.
Anne had been in touch with me frequently, since last March, when we did our first hike , ...a two hour loop through Chalky Mount , featuring "crocodile ridge " , "Hells Kitchen " , the "Keith Laurie memorial cross " and the "Franz Philips picture hole".
They group have been coming to Barbados for a total of 8 years , pausing only for two years, during which time , the world was facing the Covid pandemic.
The group reiterated their fascination on Tuesday, for these new and exciting adventures and attractions , as they are already so familiar with most of the other attractions usually offered here in Barbados.
Anne and Mary, at one time were avid outdoor enthusiasts. Their hobbies included ,but aren't limited to hiking , nature trailing , cave wandering, mountaineering and camping just to name a few.
Anne and Mary although in their early sixtys are quite fit and very enthusiastic about exploring all of Barbados's hidden gems [gullies, hills, caves, woods and overall circuits].
Patrick and Emma are warming pretty well to these experiences, and do enjoy the warm weather and welcoming ambience here , as Boston where they are from is quite the opposite with their outdoor temperatures, sometimes dropping below -10 °c.
After Tuesday's hike through Turners Hall Woods, we are already planning for their next trip here to Barbados, next March.
Joe's River's circuit , Springvale's tranquil loop as well as a Coles Cave tour is already included in their vacationing itinerary.

Jake reached out to us seeking to do the Chalky Mount through to Barclay's Park and Cambridge loop.
We started in Chalky Mount, made our way up to the summit of the "Sleeping Giant " ⛰️ then down and around to Barclay's Park and up to Cambridge, where we finished .
We enjoyed a fantastic 2 hour tailored intimate experience where not only did I share my knowledge and expertise but I also had the opportunity to gain some valuable information from my now favorite Colorado couple 🙂.
[There's an audiobook called Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara], Jake informed me of it and it resonated well with me and my passions. I made a concerted effort to finish it as soon as possible as I was intrigued after just reading its summary.

The guest I had engaged with yesterday were repeats from August this year.
For Nick's 50'th birthday he asked his companion to get him something spontaneous as he have almost everything that you can fathom. They've both visited Barbados numerous occasions and have patronized businesses in every parish.
Miss McDonnell reached out to a local renowned painter and asked for a depiction of all the things significant to him in every parish.
Funny enough we've only met this August 2023 and they both agreed that they had to have me [ Enlightened Travelers ], on the map for St Andrew.
That was heartwarming 😊!!!
First it an article with Mr John Boyce in the Barbados Daily Nation, then a feature in the Ins & Outs of Barbados 2023 magazine ,thanks to Mrs Sally Miller and now this significant piece owned by a couple from London.

Our first booked hike\guided tour for the month of April . It was an intimate, family oriented experience. It was comprised of mum Juliana, an entrepreneur, artist and local potter as well as dad Richard and their daughters.
We started off by having brief lessons of geography and history as we effortlessly traversed the rugged terrains enroute of reaching the summit popularly known as "the sleeping giant ", where the Keith Laurie memorial cross and the Franz Philips picture hole is located.
After the hike , this vegan family opted to have their refreshments done via open \wood fire so that the daughters could relish in the experience.
They were treated to roasted breadfruits, smoked plantains, vegan sausages, vegan steaks and paired them with locally crafted lemonade and tamarind juice.
The experience was topped off with the family ending their trip to St. Andrew with a spring bath in Cambridge.

Yesterday's major feature was that of a collaboration with The Club, Barbados . I had the pleasure of hosting one of their guest on a private hike/tour throughout the Scotland District . Mr Fenton is a avid diver ,adventurer and explorer. Hailing from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada he has amassed over 800 dives and hikes regularly back home. His first time to Barbados and upon reaching he decided to take a quick look through of the Ins &Outs of Barbados travel magazine. Straight away it was a no brainer ,he reached out and had one of the best experiences of his lifetime.
He enjoyed his private hike and topped it off with visiting and patronizing our local pottery shop, Highland Pottery .
