Preparing for the birth of our daughter Sa’ari drove us to research baby products that wouldn’t harm her or pose any unnecessary risk. We were amazed by the options available for our baby which provided benefits beyond what was commonly available. We found eco friendly, non toxic products for:
1. diapering (diapers, wipes, diaper disposal bags, that were as natural as possible, i.e.
cloth-like, breathable, fragrance free, chlorine-free and biodegradable, in contrast to commercial diapers which contain many possibly harmful chemicals, keep the child hotter, possibly increase diaper rash, and pollute the environment)
2. bath time (soap, shampoo, oils etc that were fragrance free, paraben free, hypo-allergenic and made from organic oils)
3. laundering (detergents that were also fragrance free and derived from natural plant materials)
4. bottles that wouldn’t cause ni**le confusion and allow an easy switch between breast and bottle feeding, so Sa’ari would be less likely to refuse either the breast or the bottle and less likely to hurt mommy when breast feeding after becoming accustomed to the bottle)
The products that we’ve been using over the past few months have produced such positive results that we want to make them easily available to parents here in Barbados. We’ve chosen to not just accept what the stores are pushing. We have found some superb alternatives. We want the best for our child and also the best for your children.
