It takes 2 days for rain to filter through the rocks into the cave, so heavy rainfall doesn't affect the cave usually until some days after.

We need to remember across generations that there is as much to learn as there is to teach. -
This statement rang so true to me this week when I conducted a tour with a grandma, two daughters and her granddaughter. They all mothered and encouraged eachother. They played and splashed together in the water like friends, and cuddled together in the darkness of the cave as a family that has prioritised love for many years.
Honestly, I shed a tear at the beauty of it. I love helping people make lifelong memories.

I believe this to be a bentonite clay deposit. Bentonite clay is formed when volcanic ash has aged about 2-3,000 years. This would mean that the volcanic presence of our sister Islands have influenced our rock for many generations and could explain how our coral reef island gained it's first soil biome.

Meet Mike. He is 75 years old and he completed the Cole's Cave tour yesterday. He says it's one of the best experiences he's ever done with his son. At his age, one single slip and cut can cause him a long recovery time and loss of quality of life. With the right amount of care and attention, we got him in and out with nothing but a smile, a full heart and a slightly muddy t-shirt 💜

the ancestors of this island.

Crystals were left, incense was burned, stories were shared. Riding high on the medz they shot a video of Malcolm for a project he was doing at the time and I couldn't resist jumping on board as well.
