The rum shop has been a staple of Bajan life for centuries, with at least one at the heart of every community on the island. At the Eagle Hall stoplight (close to Bridgetown), R A Mapp Rotisserie Chicken stands out for its colourful red exterior, longevity (which shows they’re doing things right), and their popular rotisserie chicken. You’ll often see 🐢 Sea Turtles 🐢 when you’re taking a swim, sitting on the beach, or strolling the boardwalk here in Barbados. You have to watch carefully for their heads popping up in between the waves, and for their shells as they swim back down.

If you’d love to swim amongst them, we can recommend boat trips and excursions for you to get up close to them. What an experience!

Thanks to the Almighty God for protecting us in his gentle hands. To our Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, Minister of Health, all health workers, frontline workers and emergency personnel, thank you for your diligence in undertaking such an extremely difficult task in fighting, controlling, flattening the curve and preventing community spread throughout Beautiful Barbados
Even though we are excited to be Covid-19 free, we sympathise and empathise with countries all over the world who are still experiencing this scourge.
We are in this together and the world should see this as a sign to be our brothers keepers.
As Bajans, we will do our part because THAT IS WHO WE ARE.

With Barbados on lockdown to stop the spread of the pandemic, barely a car can be seen on the road and the streets are silent. Just the noise of the breeze, the birds and the sea.

On Thursday we went to a regular spot. Possibly the best fried chicken in Barbados. Washed down with a bottle of Mount Gay rum.... very nice.
