Srimangal is one of the oldest towns in Moulvibazar district of Sylhet division. The beauty of the tea garden on the hill is its special attraction. And the history of this town as a tea kingdom is also long. Srimangal Tea Resort and Museum was established in 2009 at the initiative of the Tea Board in Bangladesh to preserve all the old history and special traditions of the tea garden.
The resort and museum are built on high hills and tea gardens. It is located next to the Tea Research Institute, two kilometers from the town of Srimangal in Moulvibazar. Which was once known to the local people as British technology. The history of tea in this country dates back to the time of the British. That old history is unknown to almost everyone of the new generation. The museum is decorated in four rooms with different types of tea collection materials to showcase that old history.
There are various types of antiques including compasses, clocks, beds, tables, water filters, tea tree wraps and tables, planting hooks, cut spades, ornaments used by women workers in the tea garden during the British period. In 1958-56, Bangabandhu served as the Chairman of the Tea Board of Pakistan. During his tenure as chairman, he visited tea gardens. The chair and table used by him at that time are also preserved in this museum.
