Kuala Dungun is a small, sleepy fishing village on the east coast of Malaysia, about 60 kilometers from Kuala Terengganu. The town itself is not that interesting but it is the beautiful scenery and Tanjong Jara beach 8 kilometers away! Here you can really get into gear - far away from stress, hustle and bustle and traffic. Here are great opportunities to explore the jungle either on foot or on a boat trip up the rivers.Snorkeling is great here, and you can also try diving in the clear water. Lots of leatherback turtles live there, and if you're lucky, they'll make their way past one of the reefs while you're here. If you are extremely lucky, you may see a whale shark, and it is not an experience you just forget!.

Pulau Maiga is a beautiful island with sandy beaches lined with coconut trees. It is situated in the Tun Sakaran Marine Park and lies between the tear-shaped island of Sibuan and the more populated island of Selakan.

Unlike its neighbouring Selakan and Sebangkat islands, Maiga is not a limestone island. It is sandy and flat. The total area of Maiga is about 20 hectares. The reef encircling it is about 8km long.
