Day 1: On the scheduled day, by bus/train from Dhaka to Khulna, from Khulna city Royal Mor / Railway station, take autorickshaw in 5 minutes and reach Jailkhana Ghat by 7 am. You will be received by our tour guide and brought to the ship in a trawler. Then fresh breakfast is served. Rupsa Bridge, Khulna Ship Yard and Rampal Power Station can be seen before the ship reaches Mongla Port. We will reach Chandpai Forest Office between 1 PM and 2:30 PM. Reach Harbaria between 3:30-4 pm with forest department permit and guard where forest department eco-tourism spot will be available. After crossing small canals through the forest, leave for Cuttack, reach at 1 am and overnight stay on the ship.

Day 2: Early morning canal cruising around Cuttack by trawler. Stop the trawler to experience the natural beauty in depth and enjoy the watch tower with various animals like deer, frogs, monkeys, wild boars, deer, wild boars and various species of birds. After breakfast, we will go down to Katkar office, if luck is good, we can see a lot of deer, from there we will return to the ship. After that we will again leave for Kachikhali by boat, visit Kachikhali and Dim Char and arrive at Tourist Ship by evening. In the evening the ship will proceed to Karamjal with BBQ Dinner.

Day 3: After breakfast visit Karamjal Eco Tourism Spot. At 10 o'clock in the morning, you can see many breeding centers of monkeys, deer and crocodiles. Departure for Khulna at noon. Reach Khulna around 3.30PM/4.00PM. There may be a 2/3-hour time lag due to tides.

নীলফামারীতে কত কী দেখার আছে ?

প্রকৃতিতে এখন হেমন্তের হাওয়া। সামনেই শীতকাল। সময়টাকে উপভোগ্য করে তুলতে ভ্রমণপিপাসুরা বন্ধুবান্ধব ও স্বজনদের নিয়ে বেরিয়ে পড়তে পারেন। তাঁদের জন্য নীলফামারী হতে পারে উপযুক্ত জায়গা।

এই জেলায় ভ্রমণের বিষয়ে নীলফামারী সরকারি কলেজের ইতিহাস বিভাগের প্রধান অধ্যাপক তারিকুল আলম বলেন, ‘নীলফামারীর অতীত ইতিহাসের সাক্ষী হয়ে এখনো দাঁড়িয়ে আছে নীলকুঠির। দর্শনীয় স্থান নীলসাগর যেকোনো প্রকৃতিপ্রেমী পর্যটককে আকৃষ্ট করবে। এখানে শীতের পরিযায়ী পাখির কলরব, নীলসাগরের নীল জল, ছায়াঘেরা এক মনোরম পরিবেশ যে কারোই ভালো লাগবে। ধর্মপালের গড়, হরিশ্চন্দ্র পাঠ, ভীমের মায়ের চুলা, চিনি মসজিদ—সবই নীলফামারীর ইতিহাসে অংশ। দর্শনার্থীদের আকৃষ্ট করতে এগুলো সংস্কার ও সংরক্ষণ জরুরি।

নীলসাগর

সমুদ্র নয়, তবে সমুদ্রের সঙ্গে মিল রেখে ১৯৮০ সালে নামকরণ করা হয়েছে নীলসাগর। আগে এটি ছিল বিন্নাদিঘি। এর আয়তন ৯৩ দশমিক ৯০ একর। নীলফামারী জেলা শহর থেকে উত্তর–পশ্চিমে ১৪ কিলোমিটার দূরে গোড়গ্রাম ইউনিয়নে এর অবস্থান। নীলসাগর ঘিরে আছে বৃক্ষরাজি, তরুলতা, বেতবন ও গুল্মলতা। শীতের শুরুতে এখানে আসতে থাকে অতিথি পাখি। পাখির কলতানে মুখর হয়ে ওঠে এলাকাটি।

এই দিঘি নিয়ে জনশ্রুতি আছে, প্রায় দুই শ বছর আগে বিরাট রাজার গরুকে পানি খাওয়ানোর জন্য দিঘিটি খনন করা হয়। বিরাট রাজা যুদ্ধে নিহত হলে তাঁকে এর পারে সমাহিত করা হয়। আবার অনেকের ধারণা, ওই রাজার একমাত্র মেয়ে বিন্যাবতীর স্নানের জন্য দিঘিটি খনন করা হয়েছিল। তাঁর নামানুসারে এর নামকরণ হয় ‘বিন্নাদিঘি’। ১৯৯৮ সালে নীলসাগরকে পাখিদের অভয়ারণ্য ঘোষণা করা হয়। নীলসাগরের আশপাশের পরিবেশকে ভ্রমণপিপাসুদের চিত্তবিনোদনের উপযোগী করতে বিভিন্ন ধরনের সংস্কারকাজ করা হয়েছে।

নীলকুঠি

ইতিহাস বলে, জেলা শহরের অদূরে নটখানায় ১৮০০ সালে নীল চাষের বৃহৎ একটি খামার ছিল। ১৮৪৭-৪৮ সালে নীল চাষে লোকসান হওয়ায় কৃষকেরা নীল চাষে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেন। এতে নিরীহ কৃষকদের ওপর নেমে আসে নির্যাতন-নিপীড়ন। ১৮৫৯-৬০ সালে কৃষকদের ব্যাপক আন্দোলনে নীল চাষ বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। তখন এলাকা ছেড়ে নীলকরেরা পালিয়ে যান। সেই নীলখামার থেকে নীলখামারী আর বর্তমানে নীলফামারী নামকরণ হয়।

জেলা শহরের উপকেন্দ্রে সর্বমঙ্গলা নদীর তীরে শাখা ও মাছা নামের দুটি বন্দর ছিল। সেগুলো থেকে নীলকরদের মালামাল আমদানি-রপ্তানি হতো। ১৮৭৫ সালে ডোমার উপজেলার বাগডেগরায় মহকুমার প্রথম কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়। ১৮৮২ সালের ১৯ মে মহকুমা স্থানান্তর করে বর্তমান জেলা প্রশাসকের বাসভবন–সংলগ্ন ইংরেজ শাসনামলে তৈরি সুউচ্চ টিনের ভবনটিকে মহকুমার দপ্তর স্থাপন করা হয়। মহকুমা থেকে জেলায় রূপান্তরিত হয় নীলফামারী। ভবনটি এখন নীলকুঠি নামে নীলকরদের সাক্ষ্য বহন করছে। বর্তমানে এটি নীলফামারী অফিসার্স ক্লাব হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হচ্ছে।

কুন্দুপুকুর মাজার

জেলা শহর থেকে চার কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ–পশ্চিমে কুন্দুপুকুর ইউনিয়নে অবস্থিত কুন্দুপুকুর মাজার। এ অঞ্চলে ইসলাম প্রচারের জন্য আসা সুফি হজরত মীর মহিউদ্দিন চিশতির (রা.) মাজার এটি। ৩০ একর জমিজুড়ে এখানে রয়েছে মাজার ও মাজার–সংলগ্ন পুকুর ও কবরস্থান।

ধর্মপালের গড়

শহরের প্রায় ২০ কিলোমিটার উত্তরে জলঢাকা উপজেলার দেওনাই নদীর তীরের একটি প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক নিদর্শন ধর্মপালের গড়। ১৯৯০ সালে এখানে খননকাজ শুরু করা হয়। ২০১৬ সালে সংস্কৃতি মন্ত্রণালয়ের তত্ত্বাবধানে পুনঃখনন করা হলে সেখানে ধর্মপাল গড় পাওয়া যায়। ইতিহাস বলে, পাল বংশের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা গোপাল পালের মৃত্যুর পর তাঁর ছেলে ধর্মপাল সিংহাসনে বসলে রাজ্য পরিচালনার জন্য জলঢাকা উপজেলা থেকে প্রায় ২০ কিলোমিটার দূরে এখানে রাজধানী স্থাপন করেন। বহির্শত্রুর হাত থেকে রাজধানীকে রক্ষার জন্য চারপাশে মাটির প্রাচীর গড়ে তোলেন। তখন থেকে এই স্থানের নাম হয় ধর্মপালের গড়। এই গড় থেকে প্রায় দেড় কিলোমিটার পূর্ব দিকে পাল আমলের রাজধানীর ধ্বংসাবশেষ পাওয়া যায়।

হরিশ্চন্দ্র পাঠ

জেলা শহর থেকে প্রায় ১৫ কিলোমিটার উত্তর–পূর্ব দিকে জলঢাকা উপজেলার খুটামারা ইউনিয়নের একটি গ্রামের নাম হরিশ্চন্দ্র পাঠ। রাজা হরিশ্চন্দ্রের নামানুসারে এ গ্রামের নামকরণ হয় হরিশ্চন্দ্র পাঠ। রাজা হরিশ্চন্দ্র দানবীর হিসেবে পরিচিত ছিলেন। তাঁকে নিয়ে এ অঞ্চলে অনেক পালাগান, যাত্রাপালা আছে।
হরিশ্চন্দ্রের শিবমন্দিরে বছরে তিনটি উৎসব ধুমধামের সঙ্গে আয়োজন করা হয়। গ্রামের স্কুলশিক্ষক অমূল্য রায় (৪০) বলেন, ‘আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের কাছে শুনেছি, এই মন্দিরে বিষ্ণুমূর্তিসহ অনেক মূর্তি ছিল।’

চিনি মসজিদ

নীলফামারী জেলা সদর থেকে প্রায় ২২ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণে সৈয়দপুর উপজেলা শহরে চিনি মসজিদের অবস্থান। চীনামাটির রঙিন উজ্জ্বল পাথরের টুকরা দিয়ে চিনির দানার মতো নিখুঁত কাজ করার জন্য মসজিদটি চিনি মসজিদ নামে পরিচিত। ঐতিহাসিক প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক নিদর্শনের মধ্যে যে কয়টি মসজিদ রয়েছে, চিনি মসজিদ তার অন্যতম। শৈল্পিক কারুকাজ ও দৃষ্টিনন্দন স্থাপত্যশৈলী হিসেবে চিনি মসজিদের আছে বিশেষ খ্যাতি। প্রতি শুক্রবার দেশ-বিদেশের ধর্মপ্রাণ অনেক মুসলমান এখানে জুমার নামাজ আদায় করতে আসেন। ১৮৮৩ সালে হাজী বাকের আলী ও হাজী মুকু নামের দুই ব্যক্তি সৈয়দপুরের ইসলামবাগে শণ ও বাঁশ দিয়ে প্রথম একটি মসজিদ নির্মাণ করেন। পরে স্থানীয় লোকজনের সহযোগিতায় এটি টিনে রূপান্তরিত হয়। এরপর তাঁরা তহবিল সংগ্রহ করে নান্দনিক এই মসজিদ নির্মাণ করেন।

সৈয়দপুর রেলওয়ে কারখানা

১৮৭০ সালে ১১০ একর জমির ওপর সৈয়দপুরে গড়ে ওঠে দেশের প্রাচীন ও বৃহৎ রেলওয়ে কারখানা। ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে নির্মিত এ রেল কারখানার ২৬টি উপকারখানায় আট শতাধিক শ্রমিক কাজ করেন। রেলের ছোট-বড় যন্ত্রাংশ থেকে শুরু করে ব্রডগেজ ও মিটারগেজ লাইনের বগি মেরামতসহ সব কাজ করা হয় এই কারখানায়। এখানে রয়েছে একটি রেলওয়ে কারখানা জাদুঘর।

এখানে আছে ব্রিটিশ রানির শত বছরের বিলাসবহুল সেলুন কোচ। ব্রিটেনের রানি এলিজাবেথের ভারতবর্ষ ভ্রমণের সময় ১৯২৭ সালে তৈরি হওয়া বিলাসবহুল ট্রেনের কোচ প্রেসিডেন্ট সেলুন কোচটি বর্তমানে সৈয়দপুর রেলওয়ে কারখানার ক্যারেজ শপে সংরক্ষিত আছে। দেশভাগের পর ব্রিটিশ সরকার তৎকালীন পূর্ব পাকিস্তান রেলওয়েকে এই সেলুন কোচটি উপহার দেয়। এর পর থেকে এটি শুধু রাষ্ট্রপতির জন্য বরাদ্দ থাকায় এর নামকরণ হয় ‘রেলওয়ে রাষ্ট্রপতি সেলুন’।

এ ছাড়া সৈয়দপুর রেল কারখানার প্রবেশমুখে চোখে পড়বে বাংলাদেশে প্রথম আসা কয়লাচালিত লোকেমোটিভ বা ইঞ্জিন। ইংল্যান্ডের ভলকান কোম্পানির তৈরি এই ইঞ্জিনসহ একই ধরনের তিনটি ইঞ্জিন আছে সেখানে।

Day 2:
Jamtala sea beach by trekking inside Katkar forest early in the morning. There you will enjoy the call of deer, monkey, fish, wild rooster, wild boar and different species of birds. After that, you will go to the watch tower, from there you can see the vast area of Sundarbans. After that we will cross Katka office and if we are lucky we can see a lot of deer there, we will return from there. After breakfast we will proceed to Kachikhali / Hiron Point before going to Dim Char / Dublar Char ( if weather is favorable will go to Dim Char) and at 4 PM visit the scary but beautiful Kachikhali / Dublar Char and reach Sheep by afternoon. Overnight stay on board with BBQ Dinner.

Day 3:
After breakfast visit Karamjal Eco Tourism Spot. At 10 o'clock in the morning, you can see many breeding centers of monkeys, deer and crocodiles. Coming back to Khulna around noon, we will stay at the ghat before evening, and leave for our destination by night bus/train.

First day:
Reach 4 NO BIWTA Jailkhana Ghat from Khulna Royal Junction/Railway Station within 7 AM . Our tour guide will Pickup you to the ship. Breakfast will be served on arrival at the Ship. After leaving the ship, Rupsa Bridge, Khulna Ship Yard and Rampal Power Station can be seen. In the afternoon we will reach Andharmanik forest office and explore the eco-tourism spots of the forest department. Reached kotka in the evening and overnight stay on the ship.

Second day:
Early morning canal cruising around kotka by Enging Boat. Chance to see deer, monkeys, birds and Jamtala Sea Beach while enjoying the natural beauty of the jungle. After breakfast, go to Kotka office and return to the ship. After that, the trip to Kachikhali and Dim Char. In the evening leave for Karamjal from Kachikhali with BBQ Dinner.

Third day:
After breakfast visit Karamjal Eco-tourism spot. Opportunity to see crocodile breeding grounds, monkeys, and deer. Departure for Khulna around noon and reach Khulna at 3:30/4:00 PM.

Our travel destination:
1: Herbaria/ Andar Manik.
2: Katka Jamtala Sea Beach.
3: Katka office.
4: Hiron Point, Dublar Char / Kochikhali, Dim Char
5: Karamjal.

Day 1: On the scheduled day, by bus/train from Dhaka to Khulna, from Khulna city Royal Mor / Railway station, take autorickshaw in 5 minutes and reach Jailkhana Ghat by 7 am. You will be received by our tour guide and brought to the ship in a trawler. Then fresh breakfast is served. Rupsa Bridge, Khulna Ship Yard and Rampal Power Station can be seen before the ship reaches Mongla Port. We will reach Chandpai Forest Office between 1 PM and 2:30 PM. Reach Harbaria between 3:30-4 pm with forest department permit and guard where forest department eco-tourism spot will be available. After crossing small canals through the forest, leave for Cuttack, reach at 1 am and overnight stay on the ship.
Day 2: Early morning canal cruising around Cuttack by trawler. Stop the trawler to experience the natural beauty in depth and enjoy the watch tower with various animals like deer, frogs, monkeys, wild boars, deer, wild boars and various species of birds. After breakfast, we will go down to Katkar office, if luck is good, we can see a lot of deer, from there we will return to the ship. After that we will again leave for Kachikhali by boat, visit Kachikhali and Dim Char and arrive at Tourist Ship by evening. In the evening the ship will proceed to Karamjal with BBQ dinner.
Day 3: After breakfast visit Karamjal Eco Tourism Spot. At 10 o'clock in the morning, you can see many breeding centers of monkeys, deer and crocodiles. Departure for Khulna at noon. Reach Khulna around 3.30PM/4.00PM. There may be a 2/3-hour time lag due to tides.
