The Rocket Steamer (Paddle wheel steamer) Service is run by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC). At present, this service is open for 6 days a week (Friday off ) from Dhaka, leaving at 1800 hours. On this trip, we shell provide first class cabin accommodation in twin bed on boat. food included from the restaurant on board. The famous paddle wheel steamer (now converted from steam to marine diesel engine) on ward to Hularhat then Morelgonj final stoppage now a days and PS Mahsud old rocket steamer Depart Dhaka to Mongla and Khulna on every Wednesday.
There are only 2 rocket steamer now in operation so that travelers can enjoy the century old British built rocket steamer cruise on every Wednesday ( Dhaka to Mongla then Khulna ) Saturday ( Dhaka – Hularhat then Morrelganj ).
DHAKA – BARISAL – BACKWATER CRUISE TO FLOATING MARKET
We offer rocket steamer cruise from Dhaka to Barisal for an ultimate cruise through backwater exploring rural landscape and experience the peasants’ activities while you visit floating market round the year.
Itinerary: Day-01: Dhaka city tour and in the evening board into the British built rocket 1st class cabin.
Day-02: experience sunrise over the river ghat of Barisal once well-known as Chandradwip, you will transfer to Banaripara by CNG with guide and board into the open shaped trawler boat for backwater cruise to floating market, late in the afternoon return to Barisal and catch overnight rocket launch cruise journey to Dhaka.

These trip cover the Sundarban wildlife sanctuaries ( Katka + Kachikhali ) within 3 days or day long cruise inside the Sundarban mangrove forest ( Harbaria + Karamjal + dolphin watching along with Bagerhat heritage site based rocket steamer 1st class cruise to Hularhat then visit Bagerhat by car and return by air or Volvo bus.
Tour itinerary:
Wednesday – Day-01: Dhaka city tour and late in the afternoon board into the British built rocket paddle steamer 1st class cabin.
Thursday- Day-02: Early in the morning sunrise photography over the river of Barisal and enjoy the rural countryside along the way of cruise up to Hularhat and at 09:45 AM leaving the rocket for car drive to visit Bagerhat Mosque and Mausoleum, late in the afternoon check in Pashur hotel.
Friday:- Day-03: full day cruise inside the Sundarbans around Harbaria, Karamjal, Dolphin sanctuaries and fisherman village, late in the afternoon car drive to khulna catching afternoon Volvo bus or Jessore takes 3 hours to arrive and catch evening flight to Dhaka.

Wednesday – Day-01: Dhaka city tour in the monuments, Museum and heritage buildings of Old Dhaka, late in the afternoon board into the 1st class cabin of British built rocket which depart Sadarghat terminal at 06:30 PM for an overnight and day long ( 24 hours cruise ) to Khulna Via Chandpur – Barisal – Jhalukathi – Kawkhali – Hularhat – Sonnyashi – Morelgonj – Mongla and Khulna on every Wednesday only.
in the evening you will arrive at Mongla after 23 hours of cruise on Thursday -02: after experience the rural landscape and riverine Bangladesh, you will check in Pashur hotel deluxe room.
Friday- Day-03: full day cruise inside the Sundarbans around Harbaria, Karamjal and fisherman village.
Saturday – Day-04: after an early breakfast drive to visit Bagerhat World heritage sites for its Mosque and Mausoleum of Khan Jahan Ali, drive to Jessore in the afternoon takes 3 hours to arrive and catch evening flight to Dhaka.
