Thank you for choosing “The Colonial Residence” for your stay in Dhaka. Be it a short stay or long lodging we aspire to give you complete 5-star comfort in a surrounding like your own home. The 10(Ten) storied brick cladded building has nine floors with one apartment on each floor, each apartment has 5 bedrooms with attached bath and excellent views overlooking the Gulshan Tank Par
k. The rooms of the apartments are pleasantly furnished with all handcrafted solid mahogany wooden furniture of the neo classical style. All the rooms have individual closets, mini bar (Non-alcoholic), electronic safe and electric kettle for making in room tea or coffee. Each apartment have a fully furnished living room and a dining room for the common use of the five rooms of the apartment. There is also a fully equipped European kitchen in each floor which can be used by the residents for any of their own special cooking needs. “The Colonial Residence” is located in North Gulshan, which is considered to be the most sought after residential area by the diplomats and expats residing in Dhaka. The building is situated on the wide road 86 of North Gulshan and nestled right next to the Gulshan Tank Park with abundance of open greenery. The residents can walk out at their convenience to the Park which has a well appointed jogging track. Unimart the largest hyper-market in Dhaka, with all local and imported commodities is just 100yds from the building, it has an excellent cafe and bakery, serving savories and meals all day from 9:00am to 9:00pm. The residents can pop in any time into the market for their daily needs. Complimentary drop and pickup to and from Unimart is available upon request
Drinking Water:
Complimentary bottled drinking water is provided for the in-house guests in all rooms. It is recommended to use bottled drinking water for making in-room tea or coffee, as such 2 extra bottles of drinking water is provided in the drawer below the tea/coffee station in each room. Room Service:
Continental, Asian, vegetarian and special colonial-style food is available at room service from 11:00 am to 10:30 pm every day. You can enjoy your preferred food at your convenience either in your room or in your dining space in the floor. Parallel to the above service you can order food of your choice from FOOD PANDA or HUNGRY NAKI which caters for more than 100 restaurants of Indian, Chinese, Continental, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, and various fast food. If late night or early morning service is required between 11:30 pm up to 6:30 am, complimentary round trip to the Westin Cafe (3 Min drive) is available for all in-house guest. Otherwise take-away food from the cafe will be available on payment with no extra charge. Alcoholic Drinks:
Consumption of alcoholic drinks is allowed for all foreign Nationals, they may consume their drinks in their room. In-house guests may also carry their drinks to the RAFFINATO restaurant on the top floor. Pick-up and drop:
Transport service to and from Shah Jalal International Airport, Dhaka is available 24 hours on payment of Taka 1000/- each way. Guests are requested to book the time at least 6 hours before required service. Running Hot Water:
24 hours running hot water is available in all rooms. Guests are requested to allow 15 min layover time before use of hot water after first switching on the electricity. Henceforth continuous running hot water will be available. Conserving Energy:
As a small gesture towards conservation of energy, in house guests are specially requested to switch off the electricity while going out of their room. Linen and Towel Change:
Linen and towels are changed every day, however to support green earth policy guests may request to have them changed only when they feel the necessity. Laundry Service:
Self or Assisted Laundry service is available for all guests for a minimum charge, modern washing machine and dryer is available on the roof area. Please contact reception for further details. Smoking Policy:
All common areas of The Colonial residence are non-smoking zones and smoking is prohibited in all of these areas. However smoking is allowed in all areas of the THIRD and FOURTH floors and designated areas of the RAFFINATO restaurant in the 9th FLOOR and the roof area. Restaurant:
Our restaurant prepares Asian, Continental, and Regional recipes with fresh ingredients. Our skilled kitchen crew and service staff are just at your call and beckon away. The dining hall on the 9th floor offers complimentary breakfast for our in-house guests, served between the hours of 6:30am and 10:30am. The breakfast spread offers multi-cuisine favourites. Lunch or dinner may be enjoyed either on the dining floor or at your own room or lounge area. Company Executives and all guests are welcome to host small meetings or dinners (parties) in the dining hall.
