houses, none reflect Bangladesh’s rich culture of hospitality, craft and cuisine as creatively as Villa Ideas and that is why Villa IDEAS was commenced. Linked to many years of involvement in art and craft development in Bangladesh, Villa IDEAS also offers guests and outside customers a rich and special variety of gifts, decorator features and old and antique collectors items. Villa Ideas is a fusion between a B & B and a guest house established by Bison Hospitality Ltd. which also offers other hospitality based services. One of Bison Hospitality Ltd.'s concerns is catering services and currently catering to the American International School in Baridhara, Dhaka. Villa Ideas was opened in May 2008 and includes a restaurant on the roof built in a style reflecting jamindari (rural landlord) splendor and can comfortably seat 45 to 50 guests. Throughout the guesthouse are features of Bangladeshi art and craft a lot of which is for sale. The guestouse was established by Barry Ison who grew up in this part of the world and has lived and worked in the region for close to forty years. His numerous exploits also includes having been responsible for a refugee camp of forty thousand during Bangladesh’s war of Independence. Barry is an experienced teacher and has worked for many development agencies (including several UN bodies) and has significant experience in both education and poverty alleviation programs throughout Bangladesh and many of its neighbors. He has commenced a Trust that seeks to establish a facility and program that will offer quality education and a secure future to street children; boys and girls abandoned to child labour; and children who are recovering drug addicts. Having already sponsored children who have been victims of child labor he has proven that with sensitive and sensible nurturing, quality tutoring and the love and support of carefully selected house parents, these children can attain significant achievements in school, sport and society.
Villa IDEAS (formerly IDEAS Manzil) was established as an expression of the rich traditions and culture of Bangladesh.
