🇹🇭 Bangkok Stories - Episode 2

Everytime I land in Thailand, I found a different vibe in the atmosphere. This time was a season of Songkran (Thai New year). Every street was preparing for the water festival which happens during the songkran celebrations.

👉 Airport to Accommodation:
We took Grab (Taxy app) to reach to our hotel. I booked the hotel in advance. The hotel was in Prathunam area near the center of Bangkok. It took 45 minutes to reach from airport & costs 400 baht in Grab. Also we had to pay 20 baht extra for the expressway toll fee.

👉 Hotel: We reach at the hotel in the afternoon & checked in right away. The name of the hotel is Cubic Prathunam Hotel. It’s a small yet beautiful hotel with a lobby in the ground floor. It has also a parking lot separating from the main road. We stayed there for 3 nights.

👉 Area exploration: At evening, we started to explore the neighbourhood & found seven eleven very close to the hotel. Seven Eleven in Thailand is a life saver. You will find everything in cheap here. I was joking with my wife telling that If I carrry one handbag & come, still I would have survived because of seven eleven. Then we explored the evening market of Prathunam which is considered one of the best wholesale market in Bangkok. Irony is if you take more in number, the price is almost half than if you take just a single piece. Nearby markets (Indra maket,Platinum Fashion mall) also offer a very good deal.

👉 Khaosan Road: It’s a very famous road in Bangkok particularly famous for its party vibe, red light district zone. We decided to explore the Roads in night so that we get the full experiences of vibe of the road. Lots of cafe, bars, street foods & entertainment activities were in that road. You will find a huge crowd while crossing the road but you will enjoy because you will find so many happy faces arround singing & dancing. We choose to sit in a rooftop cafe from where the view was scenic. High rised buildings with different lights and Khaosan streets view you will experience a bit of different than walking in the streets. The name of the cafe is Rocco Bar rooftop cafe. It’s just at the beginning of the Khaosan road.

Thailand 🇹🇭
All you need to know before Travelling ✈️
Episode 1:

✅ When to Visit:

Thailand has mostly 3 season. March to May is summer,May to October is Rainy & October to February is the winter sesson. The weather depends on the region though. The north (Ching Mai) you go the cooler it gets.

❌When to Avoid Which region:

Feb to April: Ching Mai & Ching Rai (Norther side) due to poor air quality. Even the locals relocate themselves during this time for smoky air.
May to October: Mostly the island on Andaman sea & southern island due to heavy rainfall during this time. Phuket,Krabi, phi phi, Koh Lanta etc.
October to November: Mostly gulf island including Koh Samui,Koh Tao,Koh Chang etc.

🪙Currency:
Thai Baht is very easy to use. It has 1000,500,100,50 & 20 baht notes. Also, it has 10,5,2 & 1 baht coins.
The best conversion you will get from the bank from USD. In Bangladeshi taka also, Bank offers the best. Normally 1 baht = 3.10 baht. If you withdraw cash from ATM, you have to give additional 220 baht per transaction whatever the amount is! So better to withdraw in a large amount at a time.

🤟Language:
Thai langauge is not that much easy to learn & pick up. Since its a tourist country, English is widely used, You just need to pick up the accent as Thai accent is itself a very difficult to understand 😂
Since as tourist, you are visiting its always better to learn some phrases for daily use. Examples are given below -

Hi/Hello/ Greetings 👉 Swa dee khaa (Female)/Swa dee Khap (Male)
Thank you 👉 Khap Khun Khaa (Female)/ Khap Khun Khap (Male)
Delicious/Tasty 👉 Aa - Roy!
How much 👉 Nee Gee Baht?
