Meghalaya Government is on the throes of reviving tourism industry from its present comatose state by adopting a revised strategy of “high value, low volume” as its new mantra.
Simply put, it implies that the state would be eyeing the niche tourists among the 1.3 million who visited Meghalaya in the past year or so. The message is clear: try and attract the high-end tourists even though the budget tourists make for bulk of the stats.

যমুনা ফিউচার পার্কে নতুন মডেল ভিসা কেন্দ্র এবং বিদ্যমান ই-টোকেন ব্যবস্থা প্রত্যাহার হচ্ছে ।

ঢাকার সবগুলো ভিসা সেন্টারকে এক ছাদের নিচে আনছে ঢাকার ভারতীয় হাইকমিশন। অত্যাধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধাসম্পন্ন এ ভিসা সেন্টারটি স্থাপিত হচ্ছে রাজধানীর বসুন্ধরা আবাসিক এলাকা সংলগ্ন যমুনা ফিউচার পার্কে। এই কেন্দ্র উদ্বোধনের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বিদ্যমান ই-টোকেন ব্যবস্থাও প্রত্যাহার হবে। ভারতীয় হাই কমিশনের এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ কথা জানানো হয়েছে।

শনিবার (১৪ জুলাই) সকাল সাড়ে ১১টায় ভারত ও বাংলাদেশের স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীদ্বয় যৌথভাবে একটি নতুন, সমন্বিত ও অত্যাধুনিক ভারতীয় ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্রের উদ্বোধন করবেন।

বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, যমুনা ফিউচার পার্কে এই নতুন ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্রে ঢাকায় বিদ্যমান সকল ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্র (মতিঝিল, উত্তরা, গুলশান এবং মিরপুর রোড) প্রতিস্থাপিত হবে। একই সঙ্গে ভারতীয় ভিসা আবেদন জমা দেওয়ার জন্য বিদ্যমান ই-টোকেন (সাক্ষাৎকার) ব্যবস্থাও প্রত্যাহার করা হবে।

মতিঝিল ও উত্তরায় অবস্থিত ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্র ১৫ জুলাই থেকে যমুনা ফিউচার পার্কে নতুন ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্রে প্রতিস্থাপিত হবে। বাকি দুইটি ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্রও (গুলশান এবং মিরপুর রোড) ৩১ আগস্টের মধ্যে নতুন ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্রে স্থানান্তরিত হবে। এরপর থেকে ঢাকায় এটিই হবে পূর্ব নির্ধারিত সাক্ষাতকারসূচি ছাড়াই সকল শ্রেণির ভিসা আবেদনের জন্য একমাত্র ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্র বলেও বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়।

সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, যমুনা ফিউচার পার্কে নতুন ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্র একটি মডেল ভিসা কেন্দ্র হবে। ১৮ হাজার ৫০০ বর্গফুট বাণিজ্যিক এলাকায় অবস্থিত এই ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্রে থাকবে কম্পিউটার নিয়ন্ত্রিত টোকেন ভেন্ডিং মেশিন (প্রত্যাশিত প্রতীক্ষা সময় নির্দেশিত হবে), আরামদায়ক বসার ব্যবস্থা ও শীতাতপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত অপেক্ষা করার স্থান, কফি এবং কোমল পানীয় ভেন্ডিং মেশিন, খাবার দোকান ও আবেদন জমা দেওয়ার জন্য ৪৮টি কাউন্টার। জ্যেষ্ঠ নাগরিক, নারী, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ও ব্যবসায় ভিসা আবেদনের জন্য আলাদা কাউন্টার থাকবে।

এতে আরো বলা হয়, একটি বিশেষ সহায়তা ডেস্ক এবং প্রিন্টিং, ফটোকপি ইত্যাদি সেবার জন্য কাউন্টার থাকবে যেখানে মূল্য পরিশোধ করে সেবাগুলো পাওয়া যাবে। একটি প্রশস্ত এবং নিরাপদ বিপণি কেন্দ্রে নতুন ভিসা আবেদন কেন্দ্র হওয়ায় আবেদনকারীদের আরামদায়ক ও নিরবচ্ছিন্ন ভিসা সেবা প্রদান সম্ভব হবে এবং আবেদনের জন্য অপেক্ষা করার সময়ও কমবে বলে দাবি করেছে হাই কমিশন।

ভারতীয় হাই কমিশন বলছে, যমুনা ফিউচার পার্কে ভিসা আবেদন সেবা সমন্বয় এবং সুযোগ-সুবিধা ভারতীয় ভিসা আবেদন প্রক্রিয়া আরও সুদৃঢ় করতে এবং ভারত ও বাংলাদেশের মানুষে মানুষে সম্পর্ক শক্তিশালী করার জন্য ভারতীয় স্টেট ব্যাংকের সহযোগিতায় ভারতীয় হাই কমিশনের অব্যাহত প্রচেষ্টারই প্রতিফলন।

Krem Puri cave in Meghalaya is the world's longest sandstone cave.

Meghalaya Adventurers’ Association (MAA) has recently completed an expedition to measure the actual length of Krem Puri cave in Meghalaya which was discovered in 2016. The expedition team comprised 30 cavers from the UK, Ireland, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, Poland, the Netherlands, members of MAA, and four Italian scientists from La Venta measured and map it between February 5 and March 1 this year and revealed that the length of the cave is estimated to be 24,583M (25KM) Apprx. Krem Puri is now 6000 M longer than Cueva Del Saman in Edo Zulia, Venezuela which is 18,200M . Krem Puri cave is located near Laitsohum Village in the Mawsynram area of East Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya.....

Length of the cave is estimated to be 24,583M (25KM) Apprx which is longer than Cueva del saman in Edo Zulia, Venezuela which is 18,200M (18KM) . Discovered in 2016, the cave has fossils of dinosaurs and giant reptile that lived 60-70 million years ago.

বিদেশি পর্যটকদের উপর থেকে উঠছে নিষেধাজ্ঞা

বিগত ষাট বছর ধরে হিমাচল প্রদেশ, উত্তরাখণ্ড, রাজস্থান এবং জম্মু-কাশ্মীরের বেশ কিছু জায়গায় বিদেশি পর্যটকদের সফর এবং থাকার উপর নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারি রয়েছে। একই নিষেধাজ্ঞা রয়েছে গোটা অরুণাচল প্রদেশ এবং সিকিম রাজ্যে বিদেশিদের সফর নিয়েও।

কেন্দ্রীয় স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রকের প্রতিমন্ত্রী কিরেন রিজিজু রবিবার জানিয়েছেন, এই নিষেধাজ্ঞা তুলে দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে চিন্তাভাবনা শুরু করেছে সরকার।
তবে পাকিস্তান এবং চীন এই দুই দেশের পর্যটকদের ক্ষেত্রে এই নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারি থাকবে।
রিজিজু এদিন সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, ‘এই নিষেধাজ্ঞা তুলে দেওয়ার ব্যাপারে সংশ্লিষ্ট রাজ্য সরকারগুলির সঙ্গে আলোচনা শুরু হয়েছে।’ তিনি এও বলেন, রাজ্য সরকার এবং বেশ কয়েকটি সংস্থার সঙ্গে স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রকের সহযোগিতায় খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে ‘প্রোটেকটেড এরিয়া পারমিট’ এবং ‘রেসট্রিকটেড এরিয়া পারমিটে’র মধ্যে সম্ভাবনাময় কোন কোন জায়গা থেকে নিষেধাজ্ঞা তুলে দেওয়া যায়।

স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রকের তরফে অবশ্য এও জানানো হয়েছে, পাকিস্তান এবং চীনের পর্যটকদের ক্ষেত্রে এই নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারিই থাকবে।

জানা গিয়েছে, পর্যটন শিল্পকে আরও এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে, স্থানীয় মানুষের কর্ম সংস্থান বৃদ্ধি করতে এবং রাজ্যের আয় বৃদ্ধি করার লক্ষ্যেই এই নিষেধাজ্ঞা তুলে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে।

বর্তমানে গোটা রাজ্য হিসেবে অরুণাচল প্রদেশ, মণিপুর, মিজোরাম, নাগাল্যান্ড, সিকিম এবং হিমাচলপ্রদেশ, রাজস্থান, উত্তরাখণ্ড ও জম্মু-কাশ্মীরের কিছু কিছু জায়গায় বিদেশি পর্যটকদের জন্য নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারি রয়েছে।

যদিও স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রকের তরফে অনুমতিসাপেক্ষে সংরক্ষিত ওই এলাকায় বিদেশি পর্যটকরা প্রবেশ করতে পারেন। এক্ষেত্রে স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রকের অনুমোদিত কর্তৃপক্ষই সেই অনুমতি দিতে পারবে। শুধুমাত্র বিদেশি কূটনীতিক, রাষ্ট্রসঙ্ঘের সদস্য এবং আন্তর্জাতিক সংগঠনের কোনও প্রতিনিধির অনুমতিপত্র বিদেশ মন্ত্রকের তরফে অনুমোদন করার নিয়ম রয়েছে।

১ জানুয়ারি ২০১৭ থেকে ভারতীয় ভিসা প্রাপ্তি প্রক্রিয়া সুবিন্যস্ত, উন্মুক্ত ও সহজ করার চলমান প্রচেষ্টার অংশ হিসেবে ভারতীয় হাই কমিশন নিশ্চিত বিমান, ট্রেন বা বাসের (যথাযথ বাংলাদেশ-ভারত বাস সার্ভিস কর্তৃপক্ষের ইস্যুকৃত) টিকেটসহ সকল বাংলাদেশী ভ্রমণকারী ই-টোকেন/আগাম অ্যাপয়েন্টমেন্ট তারিখ ছাড়াই তাদের টুরিস্ট ভিসা আবেদনপত্র জমা দিতে পারবেন।

২. ভ্রমণেচ্ছুরা ভ্রমণের টিকেটসহ তাদের পূরণকৃত ভিসা আবেদনপত্র আইভিএসি মিরপুর, আলামিন আপন হাইটস, ২৭/১/বি (২য় তলা), শ্যামলী (শ্যামলী সিনেমা হলের বিপরীতে), মিরপুর রোড, ঢাকা-১২০৭-এ সকাল ০৮.০০টা থেকে দুপুর ০১.০০টা পর্যন্ত জমা দিতে পারবেন। ভ্রমণের তারিখ ভিসা আবেদনপত্রের জমাদানের ৭ দিন পরের তবে ১ মাসের মধ্যে হতে হবে।

৩. নিশ্চিত বিমান, ট্রেন বা বাসের (যথাযথ বাংলাদেশ-ভারত বাস সার্ভিস কর্তৃপক্ষের ইস্যুকৃত) টিকেটসহ নারী ভ্রমণকারী ও তাদের নিকটতম পরিবারের সদস্যদের অ্যাপয়েন্টমেন্ট ছাড়া সরাসরি আবেদনপত্র জমাদানের স্কিমটি আইভিএসি উত্তরার পরিবর্তে ১ জানুয়ারি ২০১৭ থেকে আইভিএসি মিরপুর কেন্দ্রে অব্যাহত থাকবে।

৪. অ্যাপয়েন্টমেন্ট তারিখ/ই-টোকেনধারী আবেদনকারীরা তাদের টুরিস্ট ভিসা আবেদনপত্র আইভিএসি গুলশান, উত্তরা, মতিঝিল, ময়মনসিংহ, বরিশাল, খুলনা, যশোর, রংপুর, রাজশাহী, চট্টগ্রাম ও সিলেটে জমাদান অব্যাহত রাখতে পারবেন। আইভিএসি মিরপুর ১ জানুয়ারি ২০১৭ থেকে নিশ্চিত ভ্রমণকারী ও প্রবীণ নাগরিকদের সরাসরি টুরিস্ট ভিসা আবেদপত্র গ্রহণ করবে।

৫. এসব ব্যবস্থা প্রবর্তনের ফলে ভারত ভ্রমণের নিশ্চিত টিকেটসহ বাংলাদেশের কোন আবেদনকারীর আর ই-টোকেন/অনলাইন অ্যাপয়েন্টমেন্ট তারিখের প্রয়োজন হবে না। ভারত ভ্রমণেচ্ছু বাংলাদেশীদের ভারতীয় ভিসা প্রাপ্তি সহজ এবং দু’দেশের মধ্যে মানুষে-মানুষে যোগাযোগ ও সম্পর্ক বৃদ্ধি করার লক্ষ্যে এসব ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

NO PRIOR APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED FOR TRAVELLERS FROM JANUARY 1, 2017

As part of the ongoing efforts to streamline, liberalize and ease the process of securing Indian visas, the High Commission of India will allow all Bangladesh travellers with confirmed air, train or bus tickets (issued by authorised operators for Bangladesh-India bus services) to submit their tourist visa applications without e-token/prior appointment dates from 1 January 2017.

2. Travellers can submit their completed visa application forms along with confirmed journey tickets at IVAC Mirpur, Alamin Apon Heights 27/1/B (1st Floor) Shyamoli, (Opposite of Shyamoli Cinema Hall) Mirpur Road, Dhaka-1207 from 0800 hours to 1300 hours. The date of journey should be after 7 days but within one month of submission of the visa application form.

3. The scheme for walk-in/appointment-free Tourist visas for women travellers and their immediate family members with confirmed air, rail or bus tickets (issued by authorised operators for Bangladesh-India bus services) will continue to be applicable at IVAC Mirpur instead of IVAC Uttara w.e.f 1 January 2017. This facility, introduced as a pilot measure in October, 2016, has been very successful.

4. Applicants with appointment dates/e-tokens may continue to deposit their Tourist Visa applications at the following IVACs: Gulshan, Uttara, Motijheel, Mymensingh, Barisal, Khulna, Jessore, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Chittagong and Sylhet. IVAC Mirpur will only receive walk-in Tourist visa applications from confirmed travellers and senior citizens from 1 January, 2017.

5. With the introduction of these measures, no applicant in Bangladesh with a confirmed journey ticket to India (by air, train or bus) will require an e-token/online appointment date. These measures are aimed at facilitating ease of securing Indian visas for Bangladesh visitors to India and strengthening people-to-people contacts between India and Bangladesh.

যাত্রা শুরুর সময় : সকাল ৮.৩০ মিনিট প্রতিদিন।

যাত্রা শুরু / ফেরার স্থান : শিলং পুলিশ বাজার থেকে রওয়ানা হয়ে রাতে আবার একই যায়গায় ফেরত আসা হবে।

৪. ব্যাংক ট্রান্সফার – এন আর বি ব্যাংক, ব্রাক ব্যাংক, দি সিটি ব্যাংক, ব্যাংক আল ফালাহ (আপনার সুবিধা অনুযায়ী, ব্যাংক আকাউন্ট নাম্বার জান্তে যোগাযোগ করুন)।

** উপরে উল্লেখিত সার্ভিস ছাড়া খাবার বিল, হোটেল বিল ইত্তাদি অন্য কোন বিল এই প্যাকেজে সংযোজিত নয়।
