Only had to miss a game of golf, suffer a cut in the thigh from the hedgeclipper (only blood and a recked jeans), but the result was satisfying. Hope next visitors enjoy accessing this unique landscape again like it used to be in the past.

Happy Easter Day to all. On this exact day, 30 years ago, Easter Sunday 1994, Quasimodo Tours Bruges walked into the first day-open cafe and museum Hooge Crater museum. Quasimodo Tours Bruges was the first tour company which decided to support this project from Roger Desmul and Rosita Ceuninck and to make this cafe/museum the lunch and museum stop for our day tours from Brugge Visit_Bruges. Many other tour companies and individuals since then have followed our footsteps. We still come here regularly with our tours, and each time it is good to feel that 30 years later, the "legacy" of what Roger and Rosita started, still lives on. Today, since 2009 by Niek and Ilse, who with the same passion and professionalism, took over cafe and museum, updated both and run it to today's standards, with an eye on the future. We know how difficult it is to combine this work with respect for the history, but they succeed doing this with glance. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Niek, Ilse and their team for the brilliant work done to help remembering the history.

Excellent trip with this company. We were a small party of 8 and were transported in a comfortable mini van. Our guide was very informative and friendly. We stopped at all the main points of interest and a couple of the lesser known ones. Particularly poignant was the memorial to the two Australian brothers. Such a lovely backstory of love and the drive of the local people to keep these stories alive. The tour was a full day. We covered a lot of monuments and memorials but nothing was rushed. I would recommend this tour wholeheartedly to anyone who has an interest in WW1 history. By the end of the day we were more educated, more respectful of that great sacrifice and more convinced than ever that war achieves nothing for the ordinary man.
