“Expect timeless classics and discoveries in funk, soul and beyond”…

For 20 years, it has been Strictly Niceness’s mojo. Since 2002, we’ve been providing Brussels with that unique vibe, displaying the essence of dance music without limitations of genres, shapes and eras of music throughout the hip hop angle. At Strictly Niceness, we play a large range of black soulful music from

every continent, eras, genres, crossing over funk, deep funk, soul, disco, reggae, boogie, afro and latin beauties, some house music, some hip hop, some jazz for we consider those genres come from the same root. We change tempos and genres without warning, we don’t have a timetable for the night and our audience regularly saw several angry wolves roaming around the turntables, eager to play the next tune. This sort of continuous back to back amongst the residents used to bring the energy to the roof and the story of the night is being told collectively. Of course, we also know how to behave and let our guests do their thing and tell the story they want to tell. All our resident Dj’s, from past to present, have solid technical skills, vast musical knowledge, many years behind the decks. “Expect timeless classics and discoveries in funk, soul and beyond”… For 17 years, it has been Strictly Niceness’s mojo. Since 2002, we’ve been providing Brussels with that unique vibe, displaying the essence of dance music and providing a particular atmosphere in a splendid NYC loft-style location. Since one shouldn’t change a winning team, we will keep on keeping on and stick to our plan. Inviting the best Dj’s. Playing the best songs. From the classics to the unknown. Inna Strictly Niceness style… For we consider that reggae, latin music, afrobeat, hip hop, house, these styles we enjoy so much, are deeply rooted in soul, funk and jazz. Therefore, we want to expose them to your ears and get you to shake a leg or two.

OUR STORY ***

In 2002, Brussels was a desert when it came to music that grooves. Since the legendary Fool Moon venue closed its doors, the unstoppable thirst for soulful music was growing and growing amongst the fans and dancers. Brussels being mostly electro and mainstream at the time, 2 Dj's, funk fans and above all, friends, decided to create a night dedicated to black music from all genres, eras and shapes . Dj Eleven & Kwak started Strictly Niceness as a birthday party at the now deceased Kafé Kan’H with Bernard Dobbeleer as special guest. We enjoyed what we produced and got started with a bi-monthly party at Athanor Studios with the three as resident Dj’s.
