ENQA - European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education

ENQA disseminates information, experiences and good practices in the field of QA in HE to European QA agencies, public authorities and HEIs.

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is an umbrella organisation which represents its members at the European level and internationally, especially in political decision making processes and in co-operations with stakeholder organisations. The Association aims to maintain and enhance the quality of European higher education at a high level, and to act as a majo

r driving force for the development of quality assurance across all the Bologna signatory countries. ENQA contributes to this goal especially by promoting European co-operation in the field of quality assurance in higher education and disseminating information and expertise among its members and towards stakeholders in order to develop and share good practice and to foster the European dimension of quality assurance.

The deadline is approaching! ⏰ Register now for the ENQA Seminar on the European Dimension of Quality Assurance 🎓, taking place on 9 September 2025 in Brussels (Belgium).

If you are a new staff member of a QA agency and/or would like to learn about the fundamentals of quality assurance at the European level, this event is an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding into the broader context in which QA agencies work. The seminar will cover topics such as the , the European Commission’s priorities concerning quality assurance and higher education, the role of the main stakeholder bodies in the European Higher Education Area ( ), the revision of the Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), and key issues of in practice.

The event is open to representatives of ENQA members and affiliates, and other interested stakeholders. Deadline to register: 4 July 2025.

2025 marks ENQA's 25th anniversary! ✨

In this video message, the National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes (ANVUR, Italy) highlights ENQA's role in policy making and advancing quality in European higher education: "ENQA has empowered us to participate in discussions and initiatives that contribute to the advancement of quality assurance in Europe."

The ENQA Director attended the UNESCO Intergovernmental Conference of States Parties to the Global Convention on Higher Education in Paris, France.

📑 The agenda included updates on countries' progress towards ratifying the global recognition convention, and discussion on plans to prepare a subsidiary text on quality assurance (QA) and transnational education (TNE).

🗨️ ENQA highlighted the need to support and build on the existing regional QA frameworks, and for governments & QA agencies to have robust and transparent regulations for QA of TNE.

ENQA invites member agencies to nominate 🗳️ candidates to stand for election to fill three positions on the ENQA Board. Elections will take place at the General Assembly meeting on 23 October 2025 in Brussels, Belgium.

The ENQA Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Association and overseeing the implementation of the strategies for 2021-2025 and 2026-2030.

Registration is now open for the ENQA General Assembly 2025 ✨ , to take place in Brussels (Belgium), on 22-24 October 2025.

The event will be organised in cooperation with the Flemish Higher Education Council – Quality Assurance (VLUHR QA) and the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (AEQES). It will be preceded by an ENQA anniversary celebration taking place on 22 October.

The ENQA workshop on the responsible use of in QA agencies took place last week in Tallinn (Estonia), hosted by Eesti Hariduse Kvaliteediagentuur - HAKA.

🗨️ Discussions explored, among other topics, how QA agencies can support HEIs, the potential of AI, and the development of principles for the use of AI in external QA.
