The Hlane Royal national park is situated on the edges of The Kingdom of Eswatini and is a haven of hospitality. The waterhole in front of the reception area and the restaurant offers a lazy view of the docile White Rhino 🦏 which spends most of their times wallowing and sun busking on the shoreline.

Some History
Some stories we share as we visit the local villages
The History of Jambezi dates back to the discovery of the Victoria Falls. Sources and evidence shows clearly that the Tonga tribe is the second oldest group of people who lived and made the Zambezi River their own place. The name Zambezi is a mutulation of the original Kasambabezi, which literally translates to "Only-those-who-know-can-take-bath-. "Because of the infestation of crocodile and hippos along the river, the name makes a lot of sense. The Tonga people called the great water fall imanzi Atitima. Evedence also suggest that a certain nomadic group of an offcut from the Karanga group broke out of their stronghold in Bambusi and moved north where they came across the Tonga and intergrated well. This group was called BaNizi in Tonga. These are the present day Nambyas. They settled on the southern banks of the Zambezi. They called the great falls Chilonga Chinotimba which literally translates to "That-river-that-thunders/thundering/sounds. They used to fish in Masuwe river where they said it was easy to catch the fish in that river Chinamabondo (full of the catfish) . The two groups got along very well until foreigners started coming to hunt in the area. The next group if visitors who disturbed the peace between the two groups were the Ndebele who arrived on the southern banks around 1824 , long after the Nambyas and Tongas were already sharing the culture and customs and trade. The Ndebeles came in asking what was the noise coming from. They said they heard a small sound (Mkhosana) Sizwe umkhosana sikude, uvelaphi?( We heard a small sound from a distance, what is causing that sound?) with the language barrier imagine how difficult it was to elaborate. The Ndebeles wanted to settle in the area as they were on their way away from Zululand influenced by Umfecane. Now the peaceful Nambyas moved away down the river. The Tongas inquired why their neighbors moved away, they simply answered that they homeland is now occupied by visitors. Lyakabezhabezi. (It's now full of visitors coming to our place.) When that was put on record it was never recorded in its original language. IZhabezi was now mutalated to Jambezi because there was no written Nambya. Evidence shows that the Nambyas dominated the southern banks of the Zambezi river by names of places eg:- Chisuma, Kanwambizi, Malinakule, Mashake, Chikwa, Jembwe, Chenhabi, Milonga, Lukuze, Zhabezi, the list is endless mostly names of places denoting to Trees, rivers, mountains or Hills. Most names have been mispronounced by either the Ndebeles or the English who had influence in making history but the Nambyas remain the second oldest custodians of the southern banks of Chilonga Chinotimba.

An authentic African homestead consists of several huts that come mostly in two shapes; round or square/rectengular. The huts are mostly built in a strutagical pattern where by each hut acts as a windblock for other huts. The boys huts are mostly positioned close to the entrance of the homestead and the girls' are positioned near the kitchen, which is mostly in the middle of the home. The number of huts in a homestead signifies the population and the status of the owner. A collection of huts is a homestead. A collection of homesteads is a village and a collection of villages form a chieftainship. The shapes, patterns, strategies and formations vary from tribe to tribe.
