A beautiful legend is still told about Cape Emine today. Once, the lighthouse keeper was an old sailor who lived here with his only and incredibly beautiful daughter. She grew up freely in the embrace of the sea navigating its depths, sailing boats, and fishing. The harsh sea sculpted her into a woman of strength and bravery.
Once, during a terrible storm, she saved a drowning, shipwrecked sailor. This created a bond that transcended the wild waves.
The young man fell in love with the girl. In gratitude and admiration, the young sailor promised to return, a promise that echoed through the crashing waves. But, as the sea has a way of swallowing promises, the sailor forgot the words he said to the courageous girl.
From morning to night, standing on the bow, staring out into the vastness, the girl waited for her lover. The sun painted the sky with hues of orange and pink, but the sailor never appeared on the horizon.
