Greetings from Vitosha Mountains!
Today, we honor Bulgaria's first organized tourism event, led by the writer Aleko Konstantinov. On August 27, 1895, Konstantinov inspired people to join on a group journey to Cherni Vruh, the highest peak of the Vitosha Mountains, standing proudly at 2,290 meters (7,546 feet) above sea level.
Aleko Konstantinov, known for his literary contributions and pioneering spirit, believed in the power of nature to bring people together and foster a sense of community. His vision became a reality as he guided the first group of enthusiastic hikers to Cherni Vruh, setting a precedent for organized tourism in Bulgaria.
