През 1924 г. в Казанлък е основана първата в България фабрика за струнни музикални инструменти „Кремона” от Димитър Георгиев и двамата му братя Бончо и Иван.

Мечтата на тримата да превърнат лютиерското ателие, създадено още през 1918 г. от Димитър Георгиев, във фабрика за музикални инструменти се сбъдва благодарение на заем от Казанлъшката банка.

През 1928 г. "Кремона" вече е производител на две хиляди китари, хиляда мандолини, хиляда цигулки, 10 виолончела и първия контрабас.

В цеха за изработка на щрайхови инструменти към предприятие "Кремона" опитни майстори, лютиери, някои от които специализирали в Италия, изработват цигулки и контрабаси, търсени не само в България, но и в чужбина. Минчо Катранджиев е майстор-бригадир на цеха. Той работи като лютиер повече от 30 години и много инструменти са излезли от сръчните му ръце.
