While on a visit here you can have a close look at its unique archaeological finds, Christian Orthodox cloisters, folklore and traditions. Bulgaria is one of the most ancient European countries. Most contemporary historians consider the First Bulgarian state was established in 165 AD. It has a very rich and interesting history and culture and at the same time it's one of the few countries in Europe with very well protected nature and wild life. Contemporary Bulgarians are direct descendants of ancient Thracians who, judging by all known facts, were the aboriginal population of the Balkan Peninsula. And it is a well-known fact that Thracians had founded the oldest European civilization (and there is quite irrefutable evidence that it was also the world oldest civilization as the people inhabiting Anatolia and the Fertile Crescent had a common origin with ancient Thracians). In today’s Bulgaria lands archaeologists have found out remains of Thracian cities and tombs dated more than 5000 years BC; goldsmiths’ workshops dated also at over 5000 years BC–let’s just remember that the oldest worked gold was found again within today’s limits of Bulgaria: the gold artifacts found at Varna Necropolis (ornaments for horse harness) were dated at 4500-5000 years BC. All those facts plainly confirm that the European civilization has originated in today’s Balkan Peninsula and more specifically, in the lands of today’s Bulgaria. The latest genetic investigations carried out in AD 2011 indicate unequivocally that contemporary Bulgarians are direct descendants of ancient Thracians and are not immigrants of Turkich origin from Asia. The ancient states in the lands of today’s Russia and other Slav Republics in Eastern Europe, in some of the Asiatic republics in Russian Federation and outside it, and even as far as the lands to the east of Lake Baikal and in the border area between today’s India and China (the valley of Tarim River and Taklamakan Desert for instance) were a deed of the ancient Scythians, the forefathers of Thracians who had emigrated from the Balkans (the so-called ‘population expansion’ in the language of the population biology) in prehistoric times and not vice versa as historians reckoned so far. Pandion Wild Tours’ photogallery comprises great number of photographs of some of the most interesting and rare species in Europe:birds, mammals , reptiles & amphibians , dragonflies, spiders , butterflies and plants.
