Today, on March 1st, Bulgaria celebrates a charming holiday. Martenitsa, usually in the form of a wristband, small yarn dolls, or tassels, is created by combining red and white coloured threads and is worn on that day and throughout March.
Each year on 1 March we give each other (to our family, friends, colleagues, home, and guests) a Martenitsa, a red and white wristband or small doll to put on the chest with a wish for good health, joy and long life.
They are worn until a stork or a swallow is seen, symbolizing the coming of spring, warmer weather, and well-being. Once the stork or a swallow appears the Martenitsa is taken off and hung on a blooming tree. It is common in the spring to see trees festooned in Martenitsas. It looks like a colourful wishing tree.
We are sharing with you a special hand-made Martenitsa, made by the artist Албена Илиева with love for all of us. Thank you, Albena.

И тази среща с теб ще бъде още една добавена перличка във Виетнамската ми огърлица...Признавам, че ще ми липсват двете приятелки, с които така майсторски изтършувахме Виетнамските пазари, забавлявахме се сред цветните фенери на Hội An , поръчахме си цяла торта само за нас трите, която похапнахме на кораба в ДаНанг, ядохме вкусна улична храна, валя ни пороен дъжд, и още много щуротии по женски"

Тази, до скоро приемана за бедна комунистическа държава, е едно истинско бижу в Югоизточна Азия... Невъзможно е да устоиш на магията на тази екзотична мечта, защото Виетнам всъщност е много повече от архитектурни и исторически паметници, удивителната природа и вкусна кухня! Нейното огромно богатство са местните хора. Никой не може да остане равнодушен пред тези крехки на вид, но жилави, работливи и винаги усмихнати хора, които не губят своите виталност, комбинативност и позитивност при никакви жизнени обстоятелства. Контактът с тях е изключително зареждащ, а докосването до тяхната душа е истински урок! Те изповядват една много простичка философия: „животът може да е хубав и лесен, стига да се усмихваш по-често, да не си претенциозен, да ти доставя удоволствие да правиш добро на другите, и да обичаш да работиш...“.

С удоволствие споделям информация за това значимо културно събитие в АМЕРИКА и КАНАДА:
На 31 март в музея "Фийлд" в Чикаго бе открита изложбата "Първите крале на Европа". В нея са събрани над 700 експоната от 27 музея в единадесет страни от Югоизточна Европа: Албания, Босна и Херцеговина, България, Косово, Румъния, Северна Македония, Словения, Сърбия, Унгария, Хърватия и Черна гора. За първи път пред американската публика ще бъде разказана историята на възникването и разцвета на властта и свързаните с нея социални групи - владетели, вождове, царе - на Балканския полуостров и съседните територии от пето хилядолетие до края на първо хилядолетие пр. Хр. Това значимо културно събитие стана възможно благодарение на сътрудничеството и упоритата работа на сътрудниците на музейните институции и старанията на ръководството на музея "Фийлдс". В изложбата важно място е отделено на най-ранните сведения за елитарно общество - находките от Варненския некропол. РИМ-Варна участва в мащабното събитие с експонатите от Гроб 36 на световно известния археологически обект.
Изложбата ще бъде представена в Чикаго до януари 2024 г., а след това ще гостува в Националния музей на Канада в Гатино от април 2024 г. до януари 2025 г.

Бронзовата глава на Севт III намерена в Тракийската гробница "Голяма косматка" ще бъде изложена в British museum, в Лондон 🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬

"Този път нещо хубаво за България в международната преса и повод за гордост! В момента съм в Англия и тази сутрин като разгърнах вестник Таймс, извиках от изненада! На цели две страници имаше статия за предстоящата през септември изложба "Бронз" в Британския Музей. Три четвърти от тях разказваха за бронзовата глава на Севт III, намерена в могилата Голяма Косматка преди 8 години, която ще е включена в изложбата. Забележете заглавието на статията - The Greatest Work of Art the World Has Never Seen! Авторът англичанин пише, че това е най-забележителното произведение на изкуството, което някога е виждал. Но пише и нещо тъжно - "Защо светът не знае за тази глава досега? Защото е намерена в България. Ако беше в Италия или Гърция, щеше да е обиколила световната преса и всички щяха да знаят за нея." Към статията имаше голяма снимка на главата, също снимка с проф. Китов как я изважда, интервю с вдовицата му и т.н. Също пишеше колко велика е била цивилизацията на траките. Хубав повод за гордост след помията, която иначе ни залива от пресата."

Най-после някой отвън е забелязал това най-забележително произведение на изкуството! Тъжно е, че и в страната много хора не знаят за него и нещо повече - не знаят, че Тракия е имала царе... Българските историци са в дълг към българския народ.

🔎The largest observatory on the Balkan Peninsula and in South-eastern Europe is in Bulgaria, The Rozhen Observatory is equipped with 4 telescopes. It provides a wide range of observations on astronomical and astrophysical tasks – from dynamics and physics of objects in the Solar System to research objects outside the galaxy such as asteroids and comets, spectrums of stars of different classes and types of variability, star clusters, close and distant galaxies, quasars.

🗓 The Bulgars, of the people who first settled south of the Danube and established the Bulgarian state created the Bulgar Calendar. It measured the days by comparing the position of the sun and the stars. The Calendar has 12-year cycle based on the duration of the full orbit of Jupiter. The system is surprisingly close to our common calendar. Every year contained 365 days with 1 day called "Edinak" which doesn’t belong in any of the described months or weeks.
