Let’s all talk the same language!
The world is full of wonderful places, that is worth visiting. Every place or region in the world has its own features, architectural and historical heritage, rich culture, centuries-old traditions and many opportunities for adventure, recreation and entertainment.
All these features are excellent prerequisites for the development of the tourism of the given place. And exactly that was set in the program of the first Bulgarian-Russian Round Table held in Veliko Tarnovo on 18.04.2019. It was initiated by the Ministry of the Tourism of Bulgaria and Minister Nikolina Angelkova. Our team was also happy to attend! 
As a result, we would modestly summarize that despite all the differences, we are all look a like, because we all love having fun, getting to know new places, creating new friendships and enjoying beautiful views and unforgettable experiences. This, in our opinion, is an universal language, which we all are capable to speak! Let's speak more and more of it and let’s do it while traveling!

Back to the past or how the time travel is already possible!
And not in another place, but here in Bulgaria, thanks to the culturally- historical park that is built near Varna. Through various tools and methods (like interactive and sensorial-education formats) the visitors will have the possibility to return 10000 years back in time and to trace what had happened on our lands passing by the Chalcolithic and Neolithic epochs through the Thracian and Roman epochs to the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdom. The used materials are entirely authentic and correspondent to the epochs. In order to enhance the feeling and to dive completely in the atmosphere, there will be available to visitors various thematic craft courses, historical films and performances, training of ancient martial arts and crafts, horse riding, trainings, seminars, exact restorations of ancient objects and way of life. There will also be separate places for relaxation and eating with authentic recipes and prepared with natural Bulgarian products.

On the territory of the park there will also be a lake, a park, an inn, a souvenir shop with authentic artifacts, as well as venues for different events.

The park is the biggest of its kind in Europe , it is being built gradually and is scheduled to be put into its final form by 2022.
The first phase ( Chalcolithic, Neolithic, Thracian and the resting area and lake) is under construction and will be officially opened for visitors in the spring of 2019.
An amazing adventure that definitely should not be missed!

Surva, the International Festival of the Masquerade Games held in the town of Pernik is the biggest event of this type not only in Bulgaria but on the Balkan Peninsula as well. It promotes variations of ancient Bulgarian customs that are still alive today. These are an important part of the Bulgarian folklore tradition and are meant to be performed by single men and women. With its competitive nature, the festival is not only a venue but also a contest for the living vessels of this tradition, namely the Kukeri and Survakari.
The Municipality of Pernik has been holding the festival ever since 1966. In 1985 the festival gained international-event status. In 1995 the International Federation of Carnival Cities accepted the town of Pernik as its full member. In June, 2009 Pernik was proclaimed as the European capital of Surva`s and Mumers.
The International Festival of the Masked games takes place the last weekend of January. Its most attractive feature is its two-day parade for masquerade companies from Bulgaria and abroad.
On average, around 6, 000 people or about 100 groups from every folklore region of Bulgaria, as well as companies from Europe, Asia, and Africa take part in the contest.
The contestants come here to win, to experience the atmosphere, to have fun and, of course, to get the recognition that they have been a part of it all.
The citizens of Pernik and visitors from other parts of Bulgaria and abroad come to watch the show so they can be part of the magic. They want to see the masks in person, they want to touch them for good luck and good health and feel rejuvenated and energized when they leave.

Today is so called “Babinden” - according to Bulgarian customs and traditions today we honor the old women who used to help in the birth of the children. This holiday has changed over the years, but its meaning has been preserved to present days.

According to an old Bulgarian tradition, in the morning of Babinden, young mothers with children up to the age of 3 pour fresh water from the tap and put in it geranium or a sprig of basil. Then they go to the grandmother's home for "watering" with soap and cloth. Each of the women “is watering” the grandmother to wash and gift her with a cloth, and she wipes her hands off their skirts so they to be fertile and give birth more easily. This ritual is done under a fruit tree or on the stairs of her house. While she is washing, the grandmother jumps up three times and speaks words for health and luck to the children she helped in birth.

In turn, the grandmother binds the children's hands with white and red thread with a silver coin. It is believed that the water passed through her hands has a great purifying power, and she washes with this water the faces of all the children.
The ritual continues at the grandmother's house, where the young mothers bring bread, banitsa, roasted hen and wine. The feast continues with many songs, dances and jokes. Men are not allowed to be present.

The ritual ends with the so-called "dragging". This is a ritual bathing of the grandmother in the river or on the tap, but since it was once taken to the river in a wicker basket that was "dragged" and that is why the ritual bears that name. After bathing, everyone kisses grandmother’s hand and all finishes with the traditional dance horo.

Some interesting facts about this tradition: In order to give birth to beautiful and healthy children, pregnant women had to observe certain prohibitions, such as:
- not to conceive on Friday against Saturday;
- not to kick a cat or a dog;
- not to eat bread that is returned from someone who has been on a journey;
- not to run through spilled water or trash;
-not to steal food or eat in secret, so that the child's scar does not appear.

For the child’s birth to be without any problems, the grandmother has loosened everything that had been tied to the mother's home and closed the windows. The birth was kept in secret, except from the grandmother and the mother-in-law and nobody else should have understood about it. By the 40th day from the birth of the child, the young mother did not have to go out or stay alone, as these were the most dangerous days for her and her baby. The fire in the fireplace has been burning continuously until the 40th day.

The whole month of January is full with traditional Bulgarian Holidays. Today is also a big Holiday for the Bulgarian Orthodox church!
Today we celebrate the memory of the St.John the Baptist (who baptized Jesus in the Jordan river and also predicted the coming of Jesus on Earth-that’s why he is also called Forerunner). In Bulgaria it is called “Ivanovden”.
The rituals performed on “Ivanovden” are related to the purifying power of the sanctified water form the day before.The “dirty days” are over and people are praying for health, happiness and good harvest.
There are some interesting traditions related to the Holiday: in some regions the ritual bathing from the previous day (also a big Holiday related to the water) continues on 07 January. The bachelors bathe the non married girls and in the Southwest parts of Bulgaria there are some ritual bathings of the young brides and little girls up to one year old from where comes the other name of the Holiday – Women’s waters or “Jenski Voditsi”.
John the Baptist is fosterer of the foster-brotherhood and also of the relation between the newly married and their Godfathers. That’s why on this day one of them “bathes” the married couple (who got married the year before) by spraying them with water. The couple brings wine, bread and meat to the Godfathers and they exchange presents.
On the festive table people put beans, boiled wheat, banitsa, dry fruits, pork ribs with cabbage and other deli meat.
It is believed that if it’s not icy and cold on this day, in the summer there will be diseases of humans and lifestock.
The name Ivan (john) is one of the most popular names in Bulgaria and on this day everyone whose name is Ivan (and its derivatives) celebrates name day.

The Bulgarian folk traditions date back to very ancient times. Some of the magical rituals that the Proto-Bulgarians have practiced are still being observed.
January 6th is one of the three holiday days dedicated to the water.
The preparation for the feast begins from the 5th evening with the “nomination” of the water. In the morning, the 6th January, men go to the river in silence. Everyone is wearing a new white shirt - they have not eaten and drunk anything. In pure consciousness and silence they dance a traditional “horo” into the ice river. A breathtaking ritual, for making the water “healthy”. Then the oldest man throws the cross into the water.
On the next morning, January 7th – the women go to the same river and make some rituals for good health and living.
This old tradition raises ancient powers: the dark power - the female and the solar power - the male. Known as Yin and Yang in Chinese philosophy.
Our friends from the Proto Bulgarian survival school “Bagatur” will resurrect the traditions with the ritual of the “Voditsi” near Maglizh village. The culmination of the feast is the silent horo, which is performed only by men.

Looking forward to meet you in Bulgaria in 2018!
Still need a reason Why Bulgaria? Here is one: Gorgeous and Full of Natural Wonders!
From aromatic rose oil, to mineral waters with healing qualities, and unique rock formations, our rather small country is jam-packed with natural wonders. For some of the most breathtaking views head out of the major city centers and into the picturesque towns and villages comfortably nestled deep into the Rhodopi, Balkan, Rila and Pirin mountains. The Rose Valley, Belogradchik’s fortress, Hisar’s mineral baths, Melnik’s wineries, Veliko Tarnovo’s Tsarevets royal complex and a long list of many more.

It's not important the problem. It's important your point of view:-)
