Although Sithonia, the middle arm of Halkidiki, Greece looks quite mountainous and dry, the small streams support a large number of species of dragonflies even in the middle of September! For these 2-3 days I saw: Ischnura elegans - juv., copulating, laying eggs; Chalcolestes parvidens; Anax ephippiger - egg-laying female; Anax parthenope - several males; Orthetrum brunneum; Crocothemis erythraea; Sympetrum fonscolombii; Sympetrum striolatum - copulating; Trithemis annulata.
Макар и Ситония, средния ръкав на Халкидики, Гърция да изглежда доста планински и сух малките рекички поддържат голям брой видове водни кончета дори и през средата на Септември! За тези 2-3 дена видях: Ischnura elegans - млади, копулиращи, снасящи яйца; Chalcolestes parvidens; Anax ephippiger - женска снасяща яйца; Anax parthenope - няколко мъжки, охраняващи територия; Orthetrum brunneum; Crocothemis erythraea; Sympetrum fonscolombii; Sympetrum striolatum - копулиращи; Trithemis annulata.
