It is continuation of Vik-Sandvik-IHB Design - successful joint venture established in 2007 between Vik-Sandvik AS (the biggest independent ship design group in the world at that time) and young and motivated designing team of Bulyard, the biggest Bulgarian shipyard (part of Industrial Holding Bulgaria). Since then our naval architects and marine engineers involved their experience in Basic and Detail design for more than 10 projects.

From 1 January 2025, offshore vessels of 400 gross tons (gt) and above and general cargo vessels of 5,000 gt and above will have to report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, including CO2, methane and nitrous oxide, under the amended regulation of the EU for Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV). As part of this, ship owners will have to submit a verified emissions report for each ship in their fleet to the European Commission (EC) by 31 March each year.

We have been selected to carry out a feasibility study for the installation of shore power connection systems across a fleet of tankers. This initiative marks a pivotal step towards mitigating emissions and enhancing air quality in port environments, facilitating the transition of ships from diesel engines to shore-based electrical power during berthing periods.
🔌 Scope of Work: Exploring the integration possibilities of a containerized solution for shore-to-ship power supply, aimed at ensuring the fleet meets its energy requirements efficiently while in port.
📈 Results: Our detailed feasibility study will examine critical aspects, including the feasibility of integration into the existing layouts and structures of the tankers, their main power systems, and auxiliary and safety systems. This study is poised to chart a course towards a more sustainable maritime future.

Our annual sports event was held this weekend in Albena. All the companies part of Industrial Holding Bulgaria PLC gather to compete in different disciplines. This year we were able to grab the long-wished first place in football. Our engineers competed in the finals against last year's winner Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry EAD. Congrats to everyone!
