Our Adventures with Rain

Our Adventures with Rain Our cute little boy named Rain, his daily activities, and all his travel adventures & experiences. It gave me unexplainable happiness. This is my form of escape.

I have been blogging my activities, travels, lifestyle, reviews and other adventures from day one I felt the fascination in writing. As what I've said: If I don’t empty what’s inside my head, I would probably go insane! I basically write:

People and memories, Family, Family trips, Places I’ve been to, Movies & TV Programs I’ve seen and my reviews about it, Lifestyle, Food, Restaurants, DIY tips

about anything, Inspirations, Emotions, Love life, Everything about me like the things I’ve addicted to, my favorites, and other stuff whatever comes to my mind. Please check old blogs at my website- chescadventures.com

When I started writing, I felt a lot different from the way I was before. I felt relieved for something I couldn’t explain. It’s like I’m traveling without actually leaving. Not to mention that whenever I’m tired or irritated or annoyed about something or someone, just by spilling this out in words would actually relieve me from anger and desperation. Fast forward to 2019- Now, my blogging is even much better and more exciting since the arrival of our son, Jan Francisrain! I have this inner desire to take him out to different places, different experiences, explore the world and document our activities on a regular basis that will be our lifelong memories to cherish.

The very first time I went to Al Ba**er Resort was around 14 years ago, and since we went in the night, we weren’t able to take photos of the Resort at that time.

Lucky enough, more than a decade later, I’m lucky to be back now, with my child, and see the real beauty of the Resort in the daytime.

Al Ba**er is a 4-star hotel & resort located on Bahrain’s East coast. It’s an idyllic location with a relaxing view, wide parking slots, free Wi-Fi, great service, and affordable at the same time.

It has a lagoon-style swimming pool with sun benches everywhere, surrounded by palm trees. They have ready-to-assist lifeguards everywhere which is very convenient particularly for a family like us with a hyper toddler that runs & jumps here, there & everywhere.

They do have an outdoor whirlpool bath also but it is not good to dip in this almost summer time of the year, instead, we indulged ourselves in the wide pool and let our little Rain enjoy the chest-level kid’s pool enough for him to play in the water alone with little supervision.

They have chalet rooms if you want to stay for the night or have a little more privacy instead of just hanging around on the huts in the pool area. I didn’t check the room rates and based on the reviews, some said it is affordable and others said it’s quite expensive for the hotel that is a little bit far from the City, but I guess it’s still worth a try if you are a traveller.

Just as we rented a small function hall in the hotel where we had our simple Anniversary celebration, it’s quite advantageous for all of us. We had it from 8 AM until 5 PM which accommodates more or less 50 people.

We had a nice buffet lunch at the Hotel Restaurant named “The Terrace” if I’m not mistaken as it is a terrace facing directly the lagoon.

Overall, it’s a nice experience for the whole family, even for a group of friends.

I really love Bahrain, our second home since it is a friendly country to live in for expatriate families like us, convenient everywhere, there are always a lot of places to go to conveniently, lots of restaurants, and everything and everywhere is within reach.

If you are craving for a one-day holiday at the beach, I recommend Al Ba**er Resort.

Another bucket list ticked for our little Rain. Rain goes all over Bahrain!

Where to take your kids for some edutainment in Bahrain, 2024?

Marassi Galleria– Bahrain’s most exquisite beachfront shopping mall with a lot of dining & entertainment just recently opened is now the home of Bahrain’s largest oceanarium- THE MARASSI AQUARIUM AND UNDERWATER ZOO.

MARASSI AQUARIUM AND UNDERWATER ZOO, now being the largest aquarium in the Kingdom that houses over 200 species of fish. Explore the Rainforest, Reef zone and explore the ocean trench & underwater ecosystem, and take a look at the sharks, rays, octopus, arapaima, and jellyfish, among other types of marine & freshwater species.

Surely, you will find the place fun as well as educational for the whole family.

We went there last weekend with our toddler Rain who is very fascinated with water and fish ever since and needless to say, he did enjoy our almost 2 hours walking around the 20-foot-long tunnel exploring the oceanarium. He was very amused to see these fish swimming in state-of-the-art large aquariums bigger than him. He even wants to dump his hands in the water or jump inside to swim with them.

We also have taken a lot of photographs, and I myself was surprised to see how good all my snaps turned out. I love the dim lighting, the ocean blue reflection which is very enchanting, and the smell of the ocean everywhere.

Visitors can also have the chance to participate in the feeding activity.

There is also a small cozy coffee shop on the second floor named Treetop Cafe complete with artificial hanging grass and trees where you can relax and rest if you get tired of walking around.

Before the end of the tunnel, you will find an aquarium in the middle of the hallway full of doctor fish where you can dip your hand which is said to be good to stimulate and improve blood circulation.

The Oceanarium is open all the week from 10AM to 10PM. The ticket price is bhd5.5 each including children older than 3 years old.

Definitely, living in a small Island of Bahrain, this is really worth to visit!

It's been a while since I last updated this page, as I got busy with the other Social Media Platforms I'm working on, particularly Ausome Rain's Therapy progress.

Now, that I had free time at work, I decided to upload some of our recent photos taken on Chinese New Year at the Winter Festival which I think happens every year at a different place/location in BH.

This is the first time we've been to BH Winter Festival and our little Rain enjoyed the rides a lot!

He also had the chance to take a photo with Minnie & Mickey Mouse.

Enjoy the pictures! :)

The truth is, I have this common mental problem called obsessive-compulsive disorder. I do things in routine, consistently, and in a very specific order, and a change in this routine oftentimes stresses me out.

At home, I have this cleaning habit two times a day without fail 7x a week, and not just a cleaning habit, it’s more of daily general cleaning, including toilet & bath- daily, one in the morning (before I go to work) and one in the afternoon (after my work) and additional cleaning during weekends.

We also do the same routine with my child from the morning we wake up, from giving him breakfast and vitamins, preparing his clothes, bathing him, and sending him to daycare, in exact order.
That’s our everyday routine.

Part of having OCD I guess is being a minimalist. In order not to clean more, I’d rather have fewer things at home. I just like a bed, a cupboard with neatly folded clothes, a sofa, a dining set, a small play area for my child, and a very organized kitchen.

I have this fascination to live in a house just like these cute model houses. If only I could not move in the bed just so as not to crumple my sheet, I would, honestly. If only I could be able not to breathe in my sheets and pillowcases, I would do because I don’t want them to smell bad. Yes, that’s how extreme my disorder is.
I have a very keen sense of smell I smell everything in the house.

The only good thing about that, I think is that we were able to do all these despite working 8 hours a day/6 times a week. I’m glad to say that we never leave the house unkept.

You wouldn’t come and see our flat in a mess- even with a child at home.

No writings on the wall, no clothes left unfolded, or toys unkept, no dirty diapers around, no food spills around, and no dirty plates on the sink, I always make sure that everything is in order.

Not even a travel overseas would stop me to organize things before I go- funny but true. I just remember how I had to clean first prior to going to my CS delivery and do more cleaning even before my flight back to BH.

Tidy house- a happy wife, and yes, a happy life as I’ve always said.

It doesn’t matter if our flat is not as fancy as the others- I could turn an old and dirty flat into a livable one.

I know that living with a person like me takes a lot of effort, as I change the mood as quickly as I see a speck of dirt on the floor.

And I’m glad that my husband accepts me for who I am, and although we clash at times, saying that I waste more time cleaning instead of doing some other valuable things, our routine stays the same.
