The Dragonfly and double dragonfly is a speciality knot designed for 3D rigging, like the Rock Exotica UFO, it can be rigged in all dimensions.

The double dragonfly has 4 "wings" with two ropes "head and tail" exiting on both sides, allowing full redundancy as an intact two rope system, where the single Dragonfly had 4 "wings" with one rope exiting on each side, thus facilitates the same rigging but only a single connection at both ends.

Applications for example for the double dragonfly can be : two ropes to the anchor with a super 8, or around a tree with bowline creating a two rope system - then rigging and positioning on the 4 wings, either facilitating main and backup lines with MA connections/travel restricts or even additional rigging points for backfires or front ties...etc. the tails can be used as two independent lines, main and backup, front tie and main, etc Or additional rigging ..

If head and tail are tensions across (forward and back the wings can facilitate a vertical applications like the UFO.

This knot was designed to save weight , work with limited equipment, rigg in 3 dimensions like when you don't have a UFO, and it looks cool!

5D Rescue. Victim connected to a 3 dimensional cross haul on the UFO. Then moved around obstacles to become positioned under the highline. Highline positioned the rescuer above the package diagonally, then vertically attaches the victim from the UFO system to the highline . Once connected the highline transports the victim down canyon.

This system is very valuable in an industrial setting where limited space, access and many hazards are present. And the requirement to move a object in a multiple dimensional plane. Such as Rescue from a tank , platform or vessel that has a gas leak/ hazard that personal cannot enter and you need a direct line to the ground around hazards, thus not requiring to lift the victim up to the top of the structure then down.

How do you lift your scaffold planks?

These aluminum planks have no pick point or any secure way to connect a rope to properly.

So we used some climbing techniques. Two riviot hangers for linked to 80cm sewn lanyard to the rope on a protraxion . Worked like a charm. Perfect balance and just small enough to fit in the little spaces.

We played around using micro brass nuts , but the cable crimp was to big to pass through the hole. The #0 which then a carabiner nut it's self off, but the other end would cause to much sheer on the nut head.

1/2" runners 2wrap prusik on the scaffolding plank hook also worked, and we used it when the riviot hanger couldn't fit in the hole.

Pulled 5 levels of scaffolding out with this system .
