I congratulate Léo for being such a dedicated and friendly host: Ever since I contacted him on Airbnb, he replied to my messages promptly and offered me valuable information about the apartment I rented from him and things to see and do in Brasilia. He met me at the airport as agreed and gave me a very complete orientation tour. Then he explained everything about the apartment and answered every question clearly and precisely. Léo has worked in tourism most of his life and is very knowlegeable about Brasilia and Brazil in general. I hired him for a car tour and he took me to fantastic places that are often bypassed or off sight from traditional city tours. He took me to a great location for sunset pictures (the sky in Brasilia is impressive, even expressionistic), gave me lots of information about how Brasilia was planned and built, and how it's evolved since the 1960s; showed me and told me about urban art and buildings; suggested places to go out, temporary exhibits and shows, shopping alternatives, reference costs for transportation, meals and such, and even where to get more information about what interests me. He is enthusiastic, cheerful, attentive and kind, yet never invasive and on time -a great person to be around and even a new friend.

Very conveniently located in an attractive residential area of this planned city, very close to nice restaurants, cafés and shops, and walking distance to bus stops and a pretty park (Olhos de água). The apartment, a studio, is very comfortable and spotless. The bathroom is small but has enough space. While the shower does not have a curtain -very common in Brazil in my experience- it's easy to mop off the excess water on the floor and the dry weather dries the bathroom quickly. The apartment is very quiet and safe.

I wish Léo would have apartments all over Brazil and the rest of the world, because he is an extraordinary host. In a way, I don't want to sound too positive about Léo and his apartment, becuase I know that many travelers will want to stay at his place and that means less availability for my next trip to Brasilia, lol. Seriously, I look forward to going back to that attractive retro-futuristic city in order to also explore more of beautiful and remote central Brazil. IOf course I will stay at his apartment again and recommend it to my friends and family -if it's available!
