Was originally created when the seven charter members of an October 1981 “Gentlemen’s Agreement” came to the conclusion that the Brazilian incoming travel business had matured and that other ground operators and DMC´s should be invited to join the original group. After many years of consistent growth, BITO is today a respected and thriving association with more than 50 associate and affiliate memb

ers nationwide, including the country’s best DMC’s, ground operators, hotels, suppliers and business partners, who operate, promote and sell the full range of tourism facilities and services available to overseas visitors to Brazil. The President and Vice-President of BITO are members of the National Tourism Council, formed in March of 2003 by the Ministry of Tourism, and several members of the Board are also members of other important associations and forums related to tourism.
