Rio Colours

Rio Colours Tours in Rio de Janeiro and Visas for foreigners. Rio Colours is born because of a passion in common, the passion by Rio de Janeiro.
(17)

After an individual journey of more than 10 years working with foreigners in different ways, Simone Bromer as Tour Guide and Amanda Rocha as Immigration Lawyer, both decided to start a new beginning with Rio Colours, working together in order to offer excellence in services and attendance to foreigners, expats or tourists. The motivation started by watching the difficulties faced by the foreigner

s in better enjoying their stay in the city and the intention of saving their time in lines, moving around and with the Brazilian bureaucracies, always prioritizing the safety, convenience and comfort.

“Besides the bureaucratic facilities, presenting the city that we love so much is also our specialty. In our tours we show the classic, the picturesque, the nature, the beauty, the social aspects, and the best of the carioca culture in itineraries created by ourselves in a way that it can really add to the soul of each one of our customers.”

“An amazing tour with an amazing guiders!”
5 de 5 estrelas Avaliou em 6 de Fevereiro de 2015 NOVO

Me and my friend went to this tour on February 2015.
The nice guider came to pick us up from the hostel, without letting us wait. Since the first moment she explained us about everything and everywhere, answered our questions and was very kind! When we got to the favela, there was another guider who did the tour in the favela with us, so that the one that took us could wait for us downstairs. The other guider was so friendly! She knew everyone in the favela and it seems she has been there for many many times. It was so interesting and fascinating. She knows perfect english and Portuguese. The tour was not like a "zoo" (watching people living their
Life) we felt connected to the people there. And they were very nice and welcomed us. Not dangerous at all!!!

If you are in rio, DONT miss this tour! A very important experience.

It´s carnival time and this is a very common time to lose documents. So, we from Rio Colours will give you a tip: if you are foreigner with residence in Brazil and had lost your Brazilian ID (CIE), you must apply to a new one at a Federal Police Department closest to your residence with your valid passport or travel document (Mercosul citizen), 2 recents photos, criminal records, taxes paid and form 154. It´s important to know that Federal Police has discretionary power and at some cases may ask you more documents, this is normal. More information about it, contact us!

Sugarloaf + Christ the Redeemer are very famous touristic places in Rio de Janeiro, but do you know why Sugar Loaf has this name?
There are many different versions about the origin of Sugarloaf´s name and one of then is that when Portuguese people were exploring sugar cane in Brazil, the sugar was transported to Europe in blocks and those pieces were very similar to the original mountain.
It is so cute when clouds are surrounding the top of the mountain and making it similar to a bread with baker´s sugar. This is also a good reason for its name, don´t you think?

Once in Rio, have you ever passed under a tree with a giant fruit?
Probably yes!
It´s jack fruit, an exotic fruit from Asia that was introduced in Brazil around 1850 when the Forest was replanted.
It´s delicious, you should try it!!! A good opportunity to see and enjoy this fruit is coming with us in Tijuca Forest Tour, you´re gonna love it!

Rio de Janeiro it´s not just samba and carnival, it´s much more! And a piece of diversity of this wonderful city stays at the north zone of the city: São Cristóvão Fair! It's a tradicional Northeast Fair in Rio de Janeiro and music there is not Samba but also Forró!
Forró is a typical rhythm and dance from the Northeast of Brazil. The curiosity about the name is that this term cames from the expression of the English language FOR ALL.
Let´s explain better: at World War II, the USA had a military base in Natal, Northeast of Brazil and every Friday they had a party open to the public, FOR ALL and the term would be pronounced "forró" by Northeastern people.
It´s a really vibrant music and you can join us in a tour, drink a ginger shot (tradicional drink) and have fun with our forro classes!

What a big surprise! Did you know that favela is originally the name of a plant? Yes it is!
The very first invasion of land was given in Rio de Janeiro in 1987 and the hill was called Favela in reference to a favela plant from Northeast area of Brazil, where ex-slaves and warriors had contact with it at Canudos war.
Do you want to know more about favelas, come and have a very informative tour with us!
