A significant tradition, that comes from Africa influence, involves wearing white clothing, symbolizing peace, purity, and renewal for the coming year.

🌸In coastal areas, many Brazilians participate in the ritual of offering flowers, usually white or yellow, to Yemanjá, the goddess of the sea in Afro-Brazilian religions, as a way to seek protection and blessings.

🌊Another tradition includes jumping seven waves at the beach, making a wish with each leap. This act is thought to bring good luck and prosperity for the new year.

🍇Food plays an essential role in the celebrations, with families sharing a feast that includes traditional dishes like lentils, which symbolize abundance and good fortune, and grapes, with their symbolic association with prosperity.

" I have been in the Pantanal for the first time in 1989, since then I've certainly made more than 30 or 40 trips in the region... I don't remember exactly when I saw my first Panthera Onca, but it was after 2002, maybe after 2010... There were more than 50, 60 or may 70 encounters... Each one is a new experience... Last week, when I took this picture, I heard from .pics, a guide and photographer who became a friend, a definition that I think the photo translates well the Panthera Onca... She is half ghost and half real as she appears and disappears in the most diverse ways... And she always sees us long before we see her..."

We are well aware that achieving this reality is still a long journey, but we find hope in inspiring stories like that of Tamara Klink . Tamara is not only the first Brazilian but also the youngest person in history to embark on a solo expedition to cross the Polar Circle.

Before embarking on her daring adventure to the remote waters of Greenland, Tamara received some advice from a male friend. He cautioned her about the potential risks she might face, not from wild animals like bears, but from violence inflicted by men. His concern was for her safety and well-being, urging her to be cautious and aware in her travels.

On February 22, Tamara shared her thoughts on her Instagram profile: "It's been a long time since I've been without clothes. Even when I wash, I always keep parts of my body covered so I don't get cold. But not today. Temperatures rose to +5ºC outside, the heater made the boat warmer, and I took off all my clothes for the first time in months. This body is my middle. This body is no longer an end, no longer a calling card, no longer someone else's playground. This body is mine alone. It brought me here, took me out of the freezing water, took me for a walk and allowed me to live. How could I have believed that it was ugly and imperfect? What was I thinking when I thought I should be different? A body isn't destiny, it's a machine for making paths - as many as you want.”
