Our recent review literally knocked us off our feet!

"From the moment we arrived, Steve was a super human to us. He kindly picked us up from the airport, took us to the beautiful Da Sugar House.
Has been over and above a gracious host. An all round fantastic human being with a heart of gold.
I would recommend everyone to come here. Steve pointed us in all the right directions to have a fantastic time.
Even giving us a jump to our car that went dead overnight due to the lights being left on.
We will be back again.

Why Da Sugar House?

You may be wondering how this little Bahamian house got its name? So here is a brief overview of how we came to name our home, Da Sugar House.

In 1999 Steve heard of a chain of Island’s, unknown to many, The Exuma’s in The Bahamas. As an avid traveller and excited by the prospect of a hidden gem, Steve booked for him and his family to go to Exuma for their summer holiday. In 1999, The Boardman’s fell in love with The Bahamas.

Over the past 20 years of visiting Exuma, Steve fell more and more in love with the Island, and in August 2015, the dream of owning a home there was complete. In early 2018 Steve completed the move to living in Exuma full time, focused on decorating the house. As a family that had fallen in love with the island we knew other families, friends and couples would too! Steve wanted to create a serene, down to earth place for people to stay. We want all those that visit the island to have a central base to begin their adventure of exploring the magical island of Exuma.

Our wonderful neighbour (Lovie) had said to us when we first started staying at her house, “if you put a bowl of sugar out the birds will come in groups to feed,” and she was right! Every time we arrive in Exuma the first thing we do is put out a bowl of sugar. So when deciding on a name for the house, we knew we had to incorporate this wonderful ritual, and so Da Sugar House was born!
