A walk along the path will take you to our deserted, pink sand beach that extends for miles. Bring along Shangri-La's beach chairs and cooler. Spend your day in the turquoise water enjoying swimming, snorkeling, watching the dolphins, or beachcombing. You’re likely to be the only people there. A short drive away is French Leave Beach, Twin Coves, Naval Beach, and the calm waters of Cocodimama.

Orchid Cottage is a fully air conditioned, bright and lovely Bahamian cottage, on Old Banks Road steps from the Atlantic Ocean beach. It is surrounded by swaying palm trees, beautiful foliage, and tropical flowers. Walk two minutes from the front deck and a magnificent ocean view unfolds.

Unique Village Resort/Restaurant in Palmetto Point is one of our favorite spots on the island. We enjoy the friendly staff, delicious meals, and their beautiful beach. It's one of Eleuthera's hidden gems.

A ten-minute walk takes you to Sky Beach Club and Pascal's Ocean Front Restaurant and Bar with its newly tiled infinity pool, Pascal's amazing home cooked meals, and Sammy's swim-up bar. Plus, Shangri-La and Orchid Cottage is only a few minutes' drive from the lovely town of Governor's Harbour, with its century homes, great selection of restaurants, and stores.

The beaches in our neighborhood are so unique and beautiful! Our beach is a short walk along the path and it offers great snorkeling behind the reefs. World famous, French Leave Beach, is a 10-minute car ride along tropical Old Banks Road. It has beautiful swimming areas with a long wide stretch for walking. The spectacular Twin Coves is only five minutes away. It has an area on the south end where you can find coral and shells. You won't believe the beauty and uniqueness of the beaches in our area!

Shangri-La's wrap around deck is a perfect spot for listening to the ocean's waves, grilling dinner, and enjoying al fresco meals on the six-person outdoor dining table. Children can enjoy playing on the grass, exploring the neighborhood, or taking walks along this safe cottage road. Relax on the two-person hammock and read a book or have a nap while the palm trees sway in the breeze. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Shangri-La.

Enjoy relaxing on the outdoor sectional at Orchid Cottage, drink your morning coffee or sip an island cocktail, as you listen to the ocean's waves lapping on the shore. In the evenings, the deck is a terrific location to gaze at the infinite numbers of stars in the dark Eleuthera sky. The charcoal grill can be used to prepare the most delicious fresh fish, as the kids play on the grass, or family members take a wonderful walk along our cottage road. Enjoy the tropical location of Old Banks Road, get away from the crowds, and marvel at the variety of tropical flora and fauna.

Eleuthera is an easy destination to get to. The island has three international airports. The Governor's Harbour Airport is a short 10-minute drive from SL and OC. Many American guests choose to fly into ELH (North Eleuthera Airport) via Florida or other US cities. Our Canadian guests enjoy the short 3 hour flight from Toronto to Nassau and then hop on a domestic flight that takes a very short twenty minutes.

Back in 2014 The Eleuthera Sailing Club was located in Governor's Harbour and was operated by Skip and Jackie. It was a great opportunity for local kids and children visiting for extended periods to learn how to sail. The day became even more memorable when a local news channel arrived to film the activities.
