This rental provided us with an oasis within an oasis. Our group of seven (three kids, two parents and two grandparents) were easily accommodated. The yard, pool, and outdoor showers were amazing and utilized daily. I’ve never had a more responsive host, and Briana and the rest of the crew who showed up daily were enjoyable to chat with and most helpful with our questions. The house is in the center of it all and provided easy access to the beach, our boat charters, and all of our dinner reservations."

We love the louvres in this cottage. Bahamian and colonial architecture is known for it's louvres. It connects all the southern states in the US with the Carribbean. They are also known as louvered shutters and are panels that are fixed either inside or outside of windows are doors. In this case in this cottage the outdoor space is enclosed with them. They are a popular form of window treatment that have been used for over a century to provide security, privacy and protection from the elements. Timeless in design and practical for Bahamian weather.

Lots of beautiful additions to the property, more lounge chairs for lounging and a new yurt lounge for even more lounging. The cool weather has started and we just tested the heated pool and it’s just right for evening swims after the beach. Delicious! Ready for your pleasure in the heart of Harbour Island.

Last weekend we had a very special encounter with this wonderful guy at the docks on Harbour Island. I had never seen one of these in person despite being around the ocean most of my life. I can truly say it was the most amazing sight, how calm and gentle manatees are, he is such a big sweet being just floating around. We had a little giggle as when he turned over he had a little doo doo sticking out. So not only was it beautiful but now we know how a manatee poops, in case you didn’t know! Experiences like these are once in a lifetime and happen in the Bahamas.
