THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FROM 8:45PM EDT UNTIL 10:45PM MONDAY, 13TH MAY, 2019.
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR BIMINI, GRAND BAHAMA AND ABACO ALONG WITH THEIR ADJACENT WATERS.
AT 8:40PM LIGHTNING DETECTOR, RADAR AND SATELLITE IMAGERY CONTINUED TO DEPICT CLUSTERS OF HEAVY SHOWERS AND STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A PRE-FRONTAL TROUGH MOVING TOWARDS AND ACROSS THE WARNING AREAS.
SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE SEVERE AT TIMES CAUSING STRONG GUSTY WINDS, DANGEROUS LIGHTNING, HEAVY DOWNPOURS, HAIL AND POSSIBLE WATERSPOUT OR TORNADIC ACTIVITY.
BOATERS IN THE WARNING AREAS SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOUR AND RESIDENTS IN THE WARNING AREAS SHOULD STAY INDOORS AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS WHEN CONDITIONS WORSEN.

The Elbow Cay Reef lighthouse stands at 89 feet, with 101 steps, and is one of only two remaining manually operated beacons? Extraordinary efforts are undertaken by locals to secure the parts for the kerosene-burning apparatus of the light, most of which are no longer manufactured.
Make this one of your stops on your next visit to Abaco. Donations greatly accepted!
Don't forget to visit the Wyannie Malone museum in Hope Town to learn more of how wrecking was one of the main industries before the lighthouse was put into operation in 1863.

The proposal I have read will create a positive impact on the environment while lowering the overall expenses incurred by end users. Something like this will not only greatly impact Abaco today, but could make the difference between the future rise vs demise of The Bahamas where Tourism is concerned for future generations. Just a little update tonight. Even though outside of the cone Freeport and Bimini both had tornado touch downs today continue to pray for all in her path, and near. Going to bed tonight with the highest gusts yet 40mph+this will start to lessen early morning and tomorrow for the first day in 5 days will drop below 20mph gusts and keep dropping thereafter. Continue to stay safe all! I did venture outside a bit today but stayed close. See below angry seas and lots of wind.

This morning, angry seas, lots of wind and temperature drop can tell somethings coming just like the eerily calm of yesterday.

This was my last venture out yesterday between 11am-12pm after that we stayed in doors or on the leeward side of our home from about 1-5/6pm as we were under tropical storm - low category 1 winds and some gusts up to 100mph clocked during that time. This thing was big it took all day to pass 7am -11pm the winds were howling. Luckily the tides were lowering when it was directly west of us.

Having a wonderful time at the #floridarealtorsassociation #celebration100 in Orlando, learning some new stuff to keep me on the cutting edge of my market. And bonus, feeling very blessed as I've met some wonderful new persons to network with while here taking my #CRS206 classes and at the show.

Junkanoo, fun as usual and always popular with the kids.
