We’re posting a gallery themed on the Alien franchise on the same day as a post about Roswell aliens just to be confusing for sh*ts and giggles. Both even fall under the “alien tattoo” tag too.

So we got out with the hopes of slaying enough to eat for weeks, but the day fell away from us as the Kraken pummeled over 4' crests. It was Capt Jim and I (once again) that took the beating hoping and praying for flatter seas sooner rather than later.
The new hand, Scott- and Capt Chris took the thrashing one pop top at a time, never minding the day when these young bucks might feel as Jim & I do/ did.
Anxious, we wet the lines at 90' and beckoned the bounty. A reward for our stupidity, if not bravery.

There were sorted others that we came across and had a little fun throwing our worn out bait at, Strangely enough, they didn't bite either, so we've decided to rethink our baits.

Luckily the seas did calm for the ride back in- Much later in the afternoon than we are accustomed to coming back. Just in time to catch 1 of the hydroplanes rooster tail 30 feet high as they barreled down the Cocoa Beach avenue and a couple others putting in as we sheepishly loaded the Kraken back up on the trailer. This is were we chatted with the 3 other shipsmen that took on the day at the ramp and word has it, that The Ahab-It crew took the day with 1 small good enough to eat.

On another note- Cousin Vinnie was in the process of and now has moved up and over to Melbourne to be closer to the Indian River Lagoon and perhaps begin to catch some pogey live, before going out. All apologies for my lack of prepadness- However this explains drained camera batteries and For the time being, photo uploads that take a bit longer as uploads are being pushed through my phones hotspot

I had to do a small bit of convincing to get the family together to come on out, cause the winds were apparently atrocious 60 miles inland, but we got out and a good time was had by all. We even got down as far as Wabasso Beach, Florida which i hear is an excellent place to drop a line in. Shell hunting and looking over beached yachts made this day extra special.

We heard that a ton of fishies were getting pulled from the deep out of Port Canaveral, so we figured it was about time to get some salt on our lines and blood on the deck.. I got the call @ 730 pm and I was already in Cocoa so I figured i'd just head over, perhaps catch some bait fish and sleep in my trusty steed- Ol' Blue Bronco N Buck. Poured down rain on me-- The fellas arrived (+1 Crewman- Jim Sr {great to see him down from Baton Rouge, LA area}) at 0515hrs and had the Kraken floating in under 5.... Fast as a running Cobia---- Okay-- so we were expecting 2-3 foot seas, but you can, not so steadily see in the photos, that the swells were upwards 4. Needless to say that it was rough day out. Made particularly worse by the anticipated costs from the starboard engine 'complications' that day. Also noted that every lugnut on the trailer had to be tightened-- ODD). None of wanted to stay out there any longer than we had too, but something- ANYTHING- heavy enough to unspool the reel would mean a basic victory. And so, on our way in around 1230hrs we all heard that glorious ZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZ! King Mackeral- Not huge, but big enough to feed us. Checkout http://www.Ahab-It.us for the recipe!
