- The serrated ridge along the spine of the Rock iguana radiates excess heat from the iguana's body. In territorial displays this ridge makes the iguana appear larger to its adversaries.
- Rock iguanas used to be eaten by early inhabitants of The Bahamas. Today it is illegal to harm or capture a Rock iguana.

The plane crashed in at this spot just off Norman's Cay in the late 1970's supposedly filled with co***ne. Now, it's a pretty awesome snorkel site!

"The almost indescribable pale pink color of the sand comes from microscopic coral insects, known as Foraminifera, which have a bright pink or red shell full of holes through which it extends pseudopodia, footings that it uses to attach itself and feed. Foraminifera are among the most abundant single cell organisms in the ocean and play a significant role in the environment. These animals live on the underside of reefs, like the nearby Devil's Backbone, on the sea floors, beneath rocks, and in caves. After the insect dies, the wave action crushes the bodies and washes the remains ashore and mixes it in with the sand and bits of coral. The pink stands out more in the wet sand at the water's edge."

Did you know The Exuma Cays, more specifically Normans Cay was once the headquarters for Pablo Escobar’s drug trafficking operation through The Bahamas during the 1980’s? Carlos Lehder was put in charge of the operations on Normans Cay where planes would fly in and out of the private airstrip loaded with cocaine.
