Chibu Lama accompanied Ashley Eden to Bhutan in 1864 as an interpreter. He did not explain the meaning of 'Under Compulsion,' written by Eden to Jigme Namgyal (Then Trongsa Penlop), due to fear of dire consequences. In one record, it is stated that if Chibu Lama had revealed the truth, Jigme Namgyal might have killed Eden, leading to the British colonization of not only Bhutan's duars but potentially the entire country. Many current Bhutanese generation think that if he had told the truth, Bhutan would have not lost the duars- not taking into the situation at that time.

Punakha Dzong, also known as Pungtang Dechen Photrang Dzong, is a historically significant dzong in Bhutan, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Constructed in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it serves as a stunning example of Bhutanese architecture and hosts vibrant annual festivals like the Punakha Drubchen and Tshechu.
