Terton Pema Lingpa had a vision of the sacred treasures that Guru Rimpoche had hidden within the lake centuries before, according to legend. The people of Tang, however, and the local ruler, were skeptical of his claims. Pema Lingpa jumped into the lake with a butter lamp in his hand to prove his claims.

He reappeared after a long time under water, holding a chest and a scroll of paper, the butter lamp in his hand still burning brightly. Following that, the lake was dubbed Mebartsho (the burning Lake). Mebar Tsho is one of the most sacred sites in the region because it is associated with the renowned religious treasurer.

Visitors are in love of this Himalayan kingdom's exquisite culture and scenery, which has only recently been accessible to the outside world since the 1970s. It resembles a forgotten paradise. Here, there is a feeling of mystery and purity.

As soon as you get off the plane, you can breathe in the clean air and smile at the kind residents. You'll be in awe of magnificent snow-capped mountains and verdant forested valleys. Bhutan's reputation as "the Last Shangri-La" is therefore not surprising.

The picturesque Phobjikha valley, set against the backdrop of the Black Mountain Range, has a diverse flora and fauna. This, combined with the spiritual significance of the Gangtey Monastery, has drawn religious and ecotourism to the valley. The Phobjikha valley is also known as the Gangtey valley. The beauty of the Phobijikha valley is at its best in the spring, when the various rhododendron blossoms are in bloom. And in late autumn, when the birds of heaven (Black Necked Crane) arrive in a sweet deluge after the monsoon.

This is one of the areas of Thimphu with the most liveliness. Although officially known as Kuensel Phodrang, it is popularly known as Buddha Point. The largest Buddha statue in the nation is located at the location known as the Buddha Point. The view of the entire city of Thimphu is really stunning from Bhuddha Point.

There are 125,000 tiny Buddha statues concealed inside one enormous one. This implies that there are more Buddhas than people in Thimphu, which has a population of about 100,000.

Wake up to the rising sun lighting up the red and green corrugated rooftops of capital Thimphu, and the green surrounding hills, all the sharp edges softened by the warm, mellow rays. Thimphu makes one think of cardboard houses children make in school for science exhibitions and the kids would playfully paint them any colour they wanted.

In the last few years, the Drakarpo Kora in Paro has become one of the most popular Buddhist pilgrimages. The monastery still bears the evidence of Guru Rinpoche's personal meditations here. You can see a cave just below the monastery where one must pass through a narrow opening between rocks in order to assess one's acts.

The cave contains the print of the Guru, as well as images of sinful and pious people.
