Gangtey Monastery is perched atop a small hill that overlooks almost the entire Phobjikha Valley, the spectacular Gangtey Monastery is surrounded by a large village inhabited mainly by the families of the 140 gomchens who devotedly take care of the blessed monastery. A 17th century Buddhist monastery, it is one of the most famed as well as sacred sites to visit in the entire valley. A must-visit when in Gangtey.

Durga Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Thimphu - Hinduism is the second largest religious affiliation in Bhutan, covering about 23% of the population, it is followed mainly by the ethnic Lhotshampa - The Shaivite, Vaishnavite, Shakta, Ganapathi, Puranic, and Vedic schools are represented among Hindus - built on a hill-side over looking stunning valley 🇧🇹

Bhutan is celebrating 50 years of sustainable Tourism. The event kicked off yesterday at Kuensel Phodrang with auspicious ritual performances inside the prayer hall of giant Buddha in Thimphu on 2nd June coinciding with the birthday anniversary of His Majesty the late 3rd King and social forestry day. It will be celebrated for 6 months until 17th December,2024.
