Returning from yet another thrilling adventure. Enduring hours of demanding climbing, battling irritating leeches and varieties of biting flies, spending four nights in a modest tented camp, and subsisting on basic meals. Each day presented its own set of obstacles, from rising early in the morning to exploring the rain-drenched mountain. We even contemplated abandoning the pursuit of our target bird. However, just when hope seemed to fade, things turned out in our favor. On our final morning, we were blessed with an amazing encounter—the sighting of our sought-after bird, a majestic male Blyth's Tragopan, which presented upon us a truly awe-inspiring spectacle.

The Long-billed Thrush (Zoothera monticola) is a species of bird in the Turdidae family. They have a scattered distribution in the Himalayas, from Himachal Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh, and in northeast India, possibly in Yunnan and Sichuan.
In Bhutan, the Long-billed Thrush is an uncommon altitudinal migrant throughout the temperate zone. I am lucky to have a pair of them visiting near my place in a small patch of muddy area this winter.
