Deya Bhutan Tours & Travel joins Nation to celebrate and wish all Bhutanese citizen a very Happy loser on January 25, 2020 - Traditional Day of offering, this holiday pays homage to Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, who founded Bhutan in the 17th century. It falls on the first day of the 12-month of the Bhutanese calendar and was traditionally the New Year for Bhutan. Historically it was on this day that representatives from all the regions of country offered buelwa (offerings) to Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal at the Punakha Dzong to express love, devotion and loyalty. The day is celebrated with feasting and traditional sports.

Druk Wangyel Festival (December 13, 2019)

The Druk Wangyel Tshechu is a unique festival performed by the Royal Bhutan Army rather than monks or lay people. It is a tribute to the wise leadership of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King of Bhutan. It also celebrates the continuous efforts of the Royal Bhutan Army in protecting the sovereignty and the stability of the country. This one of a kind tshechu is performed against the backdrop of the magnificent Jigme Singye Wangchuck mountain range.
The uniqueness of this festival is that it is performed by the Royal Bhutan Army rather than monks or lay people. Festival dates on 13th December.
