It was such a pleasure to speak with Amy Hager, CAE, IOM of RISE Travel Institute podcast on unpacking sustainable travel. We talk about conscious traveling to Bhutan 🇧🇹 and what it means to us as an impact travel company and our country Bhutan.

We will soon be launching a destination travel course on Bhutan with RISE Travel Institute if you are interested in learning more, stay tuned.
Thank you for listening to our story!

Update: since recording this podcast, Bhutan’s tourism policy of all inclusive $250 per day per person changed to $200 only sustainable development fee per person + all tour expenses additional.

Around this time last year on the Jomolhari loop.

After 2 days of incessant downpour and forced to ride it out at camp. The sky opened up the next day to exhibit one the most glorious views we have seen around Tshophu and Bhonte la.

Our team trail blazed through and over Bhontela pass in fresh knee deep snow all the way to Soe Yaktsa.
A tough day but a day engraved in our memory forever 🍻🤙🏼.

As you go around Bhutan, visiting a Dzong is a requisite to get a better understanding of the country and her history.
The Utse or the central tower is a traditional structural design that is found in all 20 Dzongs across the country. The Utse usually houses the most important temples (goenkhas), shrines and relics of that particular Dzong which are usually closed to visitors and tended to by a designated in-house monk. The central tower often stands alone surrounded by a courtyard on all sides.
